Any different with you guys who go update directly through itune or restore from external restore file? I did the external file method and now my 3GS is sluggish. Scrolling safari is sluggish, scrolling app at home is sluggish and even photo album. App also seems to pop up slower. Anyone?

i restore using external restore file. my i3GS working fine. no problem at all.

Hi there, after you upgrade to iOS4 did you "restore" the data, OR "setup as new phone" and then sync back the data?

I have not tried it out yet but I read someone else post in LYN (sorry, I can't find the exact post at the moment) saying if you "restore", will get the few things missing you mentioned. The poster said he/she then try to "setup as new phone" and sync, and by doing this way he/she did not get the problems.

Hope this helps and please let us know if it works for you or not.

i restored my i3GS from jailbroken 3.1.3 to iOS 4 and restored my back up. everything ok. nothing missing except internet tethering but it already missing since 3.1.2.

After I upgraded my i3GS from 3.1.3 to iOS4 yesterday morning around 7am, everything working fine till yesterday midnight. I tried to sync my i3GS with iTunes. Syncing successful except for back up. I can't back up my i3GS. Error said iTunes could not back up iPhone because iPhone disconnected, pop up and I little panicked. Then i tried to restore back my i3GS but the the restore finished it halfway and error 29 pop up. My i3GS stuck at recovery mode. Then i do some research and finally I kicked out from recovery mode and also managed to restore back my i3GS but something bad happened. My i3GS keeps restarting after a few minutes especially when it is on charging or when I using it.

Is it iOS4 bug or my i3GS's hardware faulty? Before this my i3GS had been water damaged and recover from it. Only headphone jack defect. Is it possible to change the water damage indicator to normal and go claim warranty or iPhone repair shop could repair it if i3GS warranty has ended up?

i think maybe his iphone got soaked wet made it become that way. my 3g has been working fine for 2 days with ios4 now. altho theres 1-2 second lag in loading msg n camera, im still satisfied because other apps seems fine so far n battery life seems longer than b4.

at first i think my iphone soaked wet made it become this way. but before this i managed to upgrade 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 without any problem till i upgraded to iOS 4. i think it is a random bug. i'll try to restore back to 3.1.3 and i'll let u guys know the update.

is it true that i can't update my i3GS to 4.0 because my iPhone has hardware faulty (headphone jack not working due to water damage)? i f i repair the headphone jack, is it possible to update my firmware again? i love iOS 4 multitasking and folder function. damn, i'll miss it.

Ive updated my 3gs to os4 since the 1st day its out, now ive encountered a problem, my phone suddenly restarting while im talking, this happens quite often

It happens to me before this. It is kind a bug or something with hardware error. Try restore your iphone and if there is error 29, then your hardware could be the source of problem.
