i guess you never read, just a few pages back, stringfellow, yuvanesh, beavis have relayed their experiences regarding the reception issue
*
Maybe he wanted to point out about the transmission issue; like what the video emphasize.

And if you care to read what nimrod pointed out, we're all confirmed that both reception and transmission works well, in some case better than the 3G[S]. I've in fact pointed out that I've able to use 3G connection in places where it drops 3G network signal before, such as in LRT tunnels. Twittering and calling, I'd consider that transmitting, both voice and data.

I follow the thread. I read the post. I read again. Not that hard, just click "Show posts by this member only"
I have no intention at all on bringing any unpleasant situation.

Just thought it was a legitimate concern by a forumer.
If I'm not mistaken, Masamune do face the problem. Just want to point out. Don't want any debate, etc.

Stringfellow, what you did and keep on doing is amazing. You help a lot. I thank you for that, as I'm looking to have an iPhone4 as well to replace iPhone 2G, which still serving me well.

Phew..this thread is "hot". I think more than twice to post here. lol.

Ignore this reply. Please continue your open discussion.

@kerollowyat

If u wanna know, the issue is there for me. But i still wanna try it still on a 'real' micro sim and now one that i DIY myself because i cut it too small and i think it's loose.

But when i do the death grip i can see the bars dropping. My friend that brought back the phone for me from UK also got one at the same apple store and she also has this problem.

I will do more further tests when i can but up till now i have no problem with it. If i know how it's gonna drop my reception like Apple says i just won't hold it that way.

Just waiting for my bumper from chizzu a fellow LYN forumer so i can put all this behind me.

After that i'm also eyeing for the IvySkin case

@stringfellow

I'm sorry if my posts of the problem brings up heated discussions yeah?
*
Haha.. Sorry to bring you up.
I'm kinda hope that we can discuss whatever thing related to iPhone, regardless the goods or the bads. So we all gain the benefits.
People might get scared to share their bad experience. tongue.gif
That's what I think.

Anyway stringfellow, that "hot" was not meant directly to you. My apologies as well.

Hi again,

Forgot to mention that it has never been about the reception issue that I'm interested in. I'm fine with it.
It's not going to hold me from getting the iPhone and more for my family. The facetime is so cool... biggrin.gif . This is the feature that I've been waiting since I'm using iPhone 2G.
And there are more you can do and more to come. That's the great about iPhone.

Anyway guys, what's new with your iPhone. Haven't heard much, like the gyroscope.

Opss.. about your push notification, can't help you much. Not iPhone 4 owner, yet . nod.gif

even you dun need to wait till 2011 to use the video call over the 3G network, as promise by apple. right NOW u can use fring for video call over the 3G network.
u can use fring WIFI to WIFI, WIFI to 3G and vice versa. it no longer restricted to iphone 4 to iphone 4...... u can used it from iphone 4 to 3G[S], 3G, Nokia, SE and etc. as long as they support fring application.  rclxms.gif
*
Yeah.. that's so wonderful. It's crazy. rclxms.gif
So you guys already tested the video call using Fring. How's the quality through the 3G network?
Wait, even 3G can use? drool.gif

The "waitin for activation" will always stays at that until:-

1. You've initiated a FaceTime call request and the other party accepts its for the first time.
2. Your MMS setting is confirmed working. Try sending an MMS to yourself to make sure it works.
*
Stringfellow, care to explain on why Facetime reaquires MMS to be set first, correctly. I thought the Facetime uses WiFi to make it work. (Though, this no longer true as Fring offer video call through 3G)
Thanks.

Err.. of the recent posts (benny's and mine) no questions were asked? But merely, just posting links to real-world testing being done, with proper RF hardware with them concluding that its a hardware issue...
Really? As i read, there was one,.. hopefully its an isolated case...
Many people JUST want some BALANCED views, because they're about to put down some 3-odd-grand for a phone that we all have come to love. Is that really blasphemous?
*
Yeah guys.
back breaker here just wanted to share some info.
We do need some balance views.

Anyway, I don't think there is any (I can't find one) conclusive or concrete proof that the problem is in USA and AT&T, only.
Maybe anyone can share any test or research that indeed shows the problem is in USA only. nod.gif

It's up to Apple, as they are the one that know for sure what's exactly the problem.

I am experiencing the antenna problem over here in UK. But with my silicone case on its fine. I still love it nevertheless. Waiting for the update from Apple. If it doesnt fix it then I am heading back to Apple.

Whether or not it depends on TELCO I am not sure but apparently I am not the only one experiencing it at the moment. By the way I just got my Iphone4 yesterday and played until 2am this morning!

Retinal display is absolutely brilliant! Hope this will paint the right picture

Hope I can help you with this report :

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/appl...ware-issue.html

They claim that AppleCare stated that software update will not fix the signal problems.

Anyway, I can't resist myself from sharing this gadget. laugh.gif
