QUOTE(S4a @ Aug 23 2010, 02:48 PM)
Well, I can't speak for Apple.
But as what Steve Job's mentioned that many of the consumer will use the phone with a case and it'll fix the problem anyway...
Also, not saying that the phone is totally unusable. It can be used. Just only holding your phone in such ways and so on.
Really, it's not for me to answer that. Cheers!

You sounded as dumb as a post with the "bolded font" part there. Really, it's not for me to mutter such remark but I really need to.

@Joey Christensen,
Let me do some tests and revert but thus far, no big issues with d rest of the forummerss I know who's using the iPhone 4.
I'm very sure you will. However, truth to be told. It's akin to a damned child of Steve Jobs. Apple's iPhone 4, latest technology that you can lay your mittens on. I'll forgive those who has misunderstood me thus far. What ticks me off is the way the issues were addressed. Apple’s antennagate issue has been leaving Apple slapped with lawsuits, bad press relations, so on and so forth.

Eh, at least it's not a critically life or death issue for iPhone 4 and its users. By the way, do read up Toyota Prius braking issues. Malaysian should be kept well informed.

Regards, Joey

There you go again... Another one who just like judging and namings.
I mentioned that Steve's sayings. Not mine. Duh~
In the kingdom of the blind the one eyed man is king. How true is that? Do you need to be schooled how to quote an article written or a speech being spoken by someone else, per se? I get it, it's Steve Jobs, right? Duh.

Here's a quote from a reputable figure.

“You acknowledge it; you address it; you deal with it,” Lehane said. “Apple must protect its brand image, its crown jewels, at all cost. Apple has enormous consumer loyalty but it depends on whether people believe it’s credible.”

I appreciate your kind gesture. Honestly, the piece was posted as a news to be shared amongst others in this particular thread. It is a discussion thread, am I right?

I'm not creating a brouhaha over the retrofitted bumper for Apple's iPhone 4 or wanting to incite any unwarranted exchanges of fiery words across the thread.

You seems to be sensible person. At least you acknowledged the fact and not being ignorant over the issue which plagued the iPhone 4. Period. Please keep in mind, it was a piece of information that I deemed worth to be shared.

They are individuals with micro perspectives and they are individuals that look at the macro perspectives. Information is power.

Regards, Joey

p.s: I'll keep my tabs around here, especially in the Apple section. No worries.

Addendum: I left nonsensical postings in Kopitiam when I'm in here. It's business here and there's pleasure elsewhere. You should've known this better than me.

QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Aug 23 2010, 06:11 PM)
i'm not your typical, (pardon the derogatory term) apple fanboy.

i researched the iPhone 4 sufficiently to ensure that it wasn't an issue for me (and it is still not an issue until this date)
secondly, i consider myself as a neutral party and your comments (at least for today) in this subforum, is far being un-hostile.

so my most honest suggestion is, if this place sked the shiat of of joo and you are paranoid of being maul rike a piece of rag , no point extending your stay here.

and i'm not saying this in a manner, in retrospect that this place belongs to me et cetera.

i'm speaking with the intention of the well-being of this subforum.
As what they have always say, beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, and inwardly are ravening wolves. I don't think you are at that level yet thou.

Your conscience of neutrality has been diluted by your very own self. It is not very wise of you bringing forth what was being intended in the Kopitiam section. As I said before, we talk business here and leave the pleasure of being a nincompoop in the Kopitiam section. Is that very hard to comprehend? If this were not being understood, there's no value of quoting me and personally attacking me with the quotes being taken from elsewhere deemed not worth a plugged nickel to be a source of reference.

Oh, by the way, I'm not writing all these in retaliation against you or in retrospective, I mercilessly pawned you with words. You sounded very much like Datuk Abdul Razak Musa, who are representing the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in the Teoh Beng Hock inquest. Please save yourself some face and don't mix with what have been said in Kopitiam section and leave it as it is there. Sometimes being a smart arse will get yourself being burned. You could be burnt badly at times.

Here's another piece of information regarding the Apple's iPhone 4 "imperfection"

As quoted Apple's PR Library: Under the Press Release tab.

p.s: Is Apple being forthcoming with the issue in hand? I don't think so. More like damage control to me thou.

No offense Joey Christensen, your post this time around seems to be heavily induced in politics, we have a section called RWI for that, im sure you'd know that, lets keep the debates free from politics shall we.

If there is a crisis either self created or harped by the media, isnt the next best step in any organization -> Damage control, basic PR isnt it? The problem with this whole antenna issue can be associated with the powers of the american media that pretty much has a huge reaching power around the world. Even the littlest things can be blown out of proportion and harped to hilt. Just ask simple question once you read the news:

A: Does the problem affect all 3 million phones sold at launch day?

B: How many percentage of this is defective, either through mass production or errors thereof?

C: What has apple as a seller done to rectify or provide options to affected customers?

After answering this question, how do you think all this sensationalism will affect your purchase.
My post wasn't induced in politics. It was a mere hypothetical real life example of one should just keep their smart alec snide remarks to oneself. I second your motion on let's keep it free from political debates here.

Yes. I do agree. The media in the United States exercise both subtlety and thoroughness in their management of the news and the entertainment that they present to us. I do believe the world wide web resolves around media.

Let's get into questions and answers.

A: No. A collective sample of end users did experience antennagate issue and it was later addressed as a reception display algorithm.

B: I do not have the statistic in hand. Based on the complaint reports being filed and lawsuits being slapped, it's been crystal clear that one doesn't need figures to acknowledge the issue that has been surfaced.

C: Customer can return their undamaged iPhone 4 to any Apple Retail Store or the online Apple Store within 30 days of purchase for a full refund in the States.

With all these plaguing issue, it's been pretty much disturbing. The assurance is not there in the beginning. Same goes to Sony's PlayStation 3 with its inevitable Yellow Light of Death (YLOD) that crept into the PlayStation 3 that was released earlier. A console that you've bought for RM1,500 is not much but the worrying that is sickening. I think my hopefully soon to be purchased Apple's iPhone 4 will be the very same with example being shared above. I have to admit I just love the minimalistic industrial designed electronic gadget.

Regards, Joey

p.s: For question "A", even though it didn't affect everyone in totality but given in the event that I belong in one of the population, it would be worrisome to me in the context, on a personal level.

xperlah. everyone has opinion. if joey hates iphone be it.

millions more support iphone 4. kalau tak knapa iphone 4 sales are still high even after problem org dah perasan.
Don't shove words into my mouth. When did I say I hated Apple's iPhone? Words for words. In addition as quoted from Que Choisir at Unwiredview.com:

Not even Apple's solution of giving away free bumpers is deemed appropriate. In fact, Que Choisir state that until a "proper" solution is found, they won't recommend the iPhone 4. And it's a shame really, since it bested all their other tests. The death grip and a minor water resistance issue that hasn't yet been confirmed are the only factors that led to this recommendation.

A phone, be it smart or not, should be able to make calls no matter how it is handled. That’s the bottom line here.

They love the iPhone 4. However, until an appropriate measure of rectification being made, I'll be holding to my purchase for the time being, forgoing the first batch and wait for the secondary batch or will not make a purchase at all in the end. Waiting is a trap. There will always be reasons to wait. The truth is, there are only two things in life, reasons and results, and reasons simply don't count.

p.s: Please use proper Bahasa Malaysia and avoid typing using SMS lingo the next time when you want to post here. If that's not much to ask, that is.

My Lord...The first picture attachment is horrendous. There's a blotched spot in the middle where the picture came out a little bluish as in a bruise that happened. The last picture looks fine to me. The first can be binned thou.

Since Apple users tend to be in their very own world, my comment on this matter will fall unto deaf ears, right?

QUOTE(giovanni @ Aug 26 2010, 06:15 AM)
err bro, did u notice a discolored blotch in the middle of your photo?
Yes. Obviously. It's a bluish hue in the middle. As for the "jaundiced skin" colourisation, the resulting image can be corrected by either going to manual (white balance) on your camera, and reducing the white balance setting until correct or playing around with the colours in an editing programme during post processing.

Mass recalling iPhone 4 that has been sold by Apple? Should I be saying yet another in before they providing us with iPhone 4 Case Programme for a temporary fixation? Maybe we are being paranoia or a bit strenuous about the white balance issues? I'm not propagandising here to inflict fear or to cause unwanted anxieties to others, I love the iPhone 4 as much as you do or the girl next door too. However, issues will remain issues lost in the shuffle of Apple's products.

A bad apple is a bad apple, nonetheless. I want to have a bite on a sweet, juicy and crunchy apple, at the very least.

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend of mine. Here's her query pertaining the microSIM being used for Apple's iPhone 4.

She said it is possible for an existing mini-SIM to be used for the iPhone 4 in Sinagpore now. Is this true? I'm skeptical about this motion but that was what she said thou. Any reassurance about this piece of information?

As far as I know, the iPhone 4 requires a microSIM, right? Enlightenment please.

Regards, Joey

Thanks for the reassurance. That's what I have been in the knowing. It came out as a hearsay from a friend of mine this morning. Thanks everyone that provided the answer. I'll relay the news to her and say it's microSIM to be exact. Cheerio!
