Wow iOS4 can take pictures very quickly. Just noticed it. Previously it would take 1-2 seconds. Now it's almost instant.

Got few complains from my client that IOS4 on i3g is very laggy. My advise: dont upgrade first till it gets stabilize.

Bro : i wish to correct you. I am using Digi Prepaid ( the 128k) - I cut the original simcard down to size. It works PERFECTLY on my iPAD. Yesterday I was in Singapore and I tested the roaming - works perfectly too. Tested too on Celcom Prepaid card - bought it just to test

This is my answer to several who PM me about how to cut the card : you just need a sharp scissors and a piece of paper

First get the size of the card ; put a piece of paper inside the simcard slot - slightly pressed along the edges to get a impression. Cut the paper to have the size. Put paper on top of the simcard and use a pencil to trace the size on the card. What I did I cut first the right handside close to the gold edge. Then I trim the rest - it is alright to trim off slightly the top n bottoms of the gold edges. The important area is the centre part where you see 2 lines

It is the same as Maxis told me ( when I wanted to buy the card ) that the micro-sim launched for the iPAD is EXACTLY same card as for the new iPhone4. I did not take up the Maxis card as they wanted me to pay RM30 each month just for voice calls in addition to the data plan charges. I ask what is the logic in paying RM30 when the iPAD cannot do voice calls ? Then I was told is Maxis standard policy as the same micro-sim will also be used for the new iPhone4

OMG...Im just planning to get one...but hearing all this crap regarding yellow spot, wrong buttons, antenna problem, its just getting "better" and "better". I know its the first batch, but, IMHO, they dont need to rush things up. Even a lil bit delayed, people are still going to buy this iPhone, as long as the quality is not compromised.

I am also getting second thoughts after reading a few articles on the iphone4 front display and back glass breaking easily from usual height drops. I've dropped by 3g and 3gs multiple times without the casing on and luckily no display breaks. Looks like it's a must to get an apple bumper casing.

I think the reason why apple released their own casing is because they know their new design breaks easily.

For anyone who doesn't already know, iOS 4 has a new feature called data protection. This feature enhances the built-in hardware encryption by protection the hardware encryption keys with your passcode. This provides an additional layer of protection for email messages and their attachments. Third-party applications may also use the data protection APIs in iOS 4 to further protect application data.

To activate, simply activate a passcode and verify that "Data protection is enabled." is shown at the bottom of the page - like this:

If you upgraded from a device that came with iOS 3 pre-installed, you will have to restore your iPhone in order for data protection to work.

I hope this has helped someone. smile.gif

If you do not see it, it's because you moved from OS 3 to iOS 4. You will have to restore your iPhone in order for data protection to work.

To all soon-to-be iPhone 4 users, note that there are current hardware issues regarding the stainless steel band (also known as the antenna) around the phone. It appears that when holding the two dividing parts of the band, the signal drops significantly. This has been proven true by a lot of the users and is also known by Steve Jobs himself. Job's response?

Just avoid holding it in that way.

So far the problem I'm having right now is the 3G network here is not activated yet, the telco service provider told me that they are having some problems for the micro sim.
I didn't face any reception problem yet, maybe I didn't call as much, well I have no idea.
Well so far I'm quite satisfied with it, especially the iBooks, you'd never feel reading a novel so simple and convenient !
And the side band of the new iPhone, Apple made it less scratchable than the previous model (aluminium based).

No issues at all with the reception? Try gripping the sides with more effort. The majority of users seem to notice their reception bars going down one by one when the sides are gripped. Also, I suppose this issue isn't widespread. Apparently it has to do with how conductive your skin is, according to an article on a webpage I forgot the name to.

P.s. How's the glass casing? Any scratches so far?

(Picture of Steve Job's presenting a demo to the Russian president)

After all the issues with the signal and reception, the fact that Steve Job's had to hold the iPhone 4 in this way clearly indicates that he knows that there's a problem with the antenna design. In fact, he probably knew about this all along, hence the sale of "bumpers" to fix the problem.

What is your opinion on this?
