guys. a question. these few days, i can't update the weather for "My Location" which is Johor Bahru, and the 4 days forecast does not appear at the bottom of the screen.

but it updates other locations (eg. kuala lumpur, singapore, manila, etc) just fine, with the 4 days forecast too.

tried soft reset, but it doesn't solve it. a little help and suggestion please.

@anybody:

1. does Palringo work with wi-fi? looks like its new.
2. tried downloading Nimbuzz, but it says that it would only work on WAP.
3. Beejive has no new version, so i'm thinking of trying Palringo. any advice?
4. i'm still using the ol' Winmo 6.5 in case you're wondering.
5. will there be an official update to Winmo 7 for HD2?

TQVM!

1.Yes it does work with WIFI

have you tried fring.com? you can forced it to use WiFi all the time.but you have to remember that all IMs will eat the battery fast.

QUOTE(antt00 @ Sep 7 2010, 09:03 AM)
Palringo works well. Its not new been around for quite sometime.
Never tried Nimbuzz or Beejive before so no comment.
And no there will be no WM7 update for HD2. WM7 will be new with minimal apps as the current apps will not be supported. Its better to jump over to android and see how it goes from there.
*
thanks for the input guys! i've never got the guts or the time to install custom roms or switch over to android. and i have no back-up phone if something goes wrong. so, i'll use WM6.5 for the moment. cheers!

Yes, you need to install hotfixes again. Better solution is to install latest ROM therefore need not install hotfixes.
*
thanks doc. when i bought my phone in february 2010, its already using the latest (official) rom 1.66.707.1. the hotfixes i installed are dated march-july 2010 (after the january 2010 rom upgrade). so i assumed that i require those updates. did i make the wrong assumptions? alamak! rclxub.gif

There is no harm installing the hotfixes ; if it is already in  your rom, it'll just overwrite it. It takes up space though.

I have been using the HD2 since Dec 2009 , I have never install any of the hotfixes as I do not see the need. My HD2 was Ok with no issues on SMS etc. When cook roms were available, I drop it and upgraded to the cooked roms
*
QUOTE(DrWho @ Oct 4 2010, 11:27 AM)
Hotfixes are meant for specific ROMs only, ie to rectify minor problem or to improve performance of those ROMs. In general if the hotfix issue date is dated after the ROM issue date, then it is good to apply the hotfix, provided the hotfix is meant for that ROM.

understood. thanks guys for the advice. notworthy.gif

Well. depend on how well those XDA guys will work on it.  It is NOT supported by Microsoft and only 3 buttons will be working

It took Microsoft a long time to get WM6.5 sorted out. When it first came out WM6.5 had many problems. We can expect WM7 to be the same. By the time WM7 problems are resolved, it would be time to get a new phone, 2GHz processor tongue.gif
*
i guess WM is not on Microsoft's A-List of revenue. sad.gif

Totally agree. WM7 is not open source and unless microsoft give their consent like WM6.5 and below, XDA cannot release any WM7 rom.

But apart from being a new OS, I don't find anything interesting about WM7 anyway. In fact for me its a step backward as some of the features I use in WM6.5 is not available in WM7.

we may have to migrate to android soon... sad.gif

do you guys know of any latest facebook app downloads for the HD2? the default facebook app is crap. it can hardly do anything (even after the official patch). can't even read people's comment on your wall, pics or videos.

android's facebook app is way cooler. its almost like using the browser on the pc.

What make you say HD2 can't play video? With the correct player it will play all mobile formats. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(antt00 @ Oct 29 2010, 12:56 PM)
I think slaymaster was referring to the video on facebook which WM cannot play as our browser don't support the latest flash (or rather the other way around) and we don't have any good facebook app.
*
yup. what antt00 said. sad.gif

off topic:

can we buy that form any spec outlet? i always wonder where i can buy it. previously i just got used one from family and friends. some are good, some will leave stain. i want the good one where it will collect everything from the lens and when i wash it under water it will get rid everything from the cloth.

i also use facial blotter, but now its getting expensive, more than RM5 per pack.
*
try Essilor MX100 Cloth. it can be found at all optics shops. nod.gif

If HD2 supports WP7 it will be a breakthrough right, as probably the first WP7 phone with removable storage, sort of not complying with WP7 technical sheet

WP7 phone doesn't have removable storage? i didn't know that! blink.gif
