Few questions first.
Q1. Using Windows 7? Windows XP has no known issue with WM Active Sync
Q2. Using Active Sync at your laptop? At laptop Active Sync delete the connection relationship and reestablish the relationship with HD2. Delete Active Sync connection relationship
with your laptop and reestablish the relationship at your HD2.

This should solve the problem

It is possible. I have ported over Android Froyo ( htc Sense UI ) ver 2.2 to my HTC HD2. I will be testing further the features comparing it with my Nexus ( which is on Froyo ver 2.2 )

I realize there is no new ROM available from HTC Malaysia site, meaning we have upgrade our radio ROM by ourselves to at least 2.08 as mentioned by XDA right?

You can easily find the new radios from forum XDA.
