I called Uniten a couple of mins back. They rejected my accommodation appeal. Why? Because it's all full!
Damn you new intake.

The thing that pisses me off is that, they don't call you to let you know if your appeal's rejected, they'd only call if it's accepted.

This' a disaster.

I actually saw that coming. I'm just hoping my friend gets a room, can squeeze in smile.gif
But this isn't good, I can predict another fierce dialogue session coming soon mad.gif

staying in sri serdang for a year already. U can try around serdang, minlon, kajang, or bangi. These areas are the nearest to uni.

Do you know any property for rent? Or any good agents?
Please pm me if you do smile.gif smile.gif

QUOTE(Frangipani @ May 3 2011, 05:35 PM)
There is still hope. But very slim. Next Monday first thing in the morning go to the Cendi office and ask politely. Did that for few semesters (IIRC since I was in 3rd year until Final semester). So far that never fails. They'll say its full but if you keep asking they might give you one eventually. Try to control your temper though.

Again, its very unlikely to get a room considering the number of newcomers and three intakes per year now but its worth a try if you are really desperate.

Hope this helps.
*
That's hard man, I've got temper issues.
Nevertheless, thanks for your advice, will do that smile.gif

Well whatever items I've listed that sounds logical to be in the room. Can't have a sofa or a sink in the room right?

Anywya, all you have in there is a bed, mattress and wardrobe. A curtain too for the window.
*
LOL laugh.gif
Be sure to bring your own curtain if you can. The curtain provided is just, well, filthy.

i'll be getting my offer letter tomorrow and pass-up all relevant documents like the medical report in uniten's form, real spm results etc.

as for accommodation, my friend told me that amanah is all full, so the only placement is at cendi i guess.

btw, anything i will be missing for the orientation ? as i know tomorrow there will be an important event; subject registration. anyone knows what time is the subject registration event going on ? and also im still not moving into cendi until this saturday/sunday i guess so i will be missing the whole orientation.

any important event that requires student's registration besides the subject registration during the whole orientation week ? coz i know ill be missing the orientation sad.gif
*
Not too sure whether you'll be missing out on the PTPTN briefing. You should check with those that are already there.

about those PTPTN and scholarships stuff im generally clear as it is available to read on UNITEN's website. they even tells you the documents needed for application for scholarships and PTPTN loans so im quite clear of it. im just unsure about the subject registration which is needed to be done tomorrow(4may). others stuff like the rules/scholarships/ptptn/clothings i generally knew them already coz i've done my homework biggrin.gif

can u tell me more about this 'subject registration' thing ? thanks
*
You think you might know PTPTN, but you actually don't. Don't take PTPTN lightly man, the slightest of errors while submitting your form could burn a big big hole in your pocket brows.gif
Just be sure to attend the briefing, it's very important.

As for your subject registration, you don't really have to be worried. Subject registration is where you choose the subjects you wanna do next semester, by means of modifying your study plan, this is also where you can register classes/drop classes for the current sem, as well as made changes to your time table.

Thing is, students taking foundation already have their first semester's time tables prepared by the management, so there's really nothing much to worry about. Just be sure to ask around, as everything is important.

ok. i think i will not be able to attend the briefing. but surely i'll ask the counselor one day more about ptptn if im going to apply lol. but i think ill be applying scholarships if theres any. ok so now i know first sem's subject cant really be 'modified' or changed. so the sub registration is mostly for the next sem right ? really appreciate all the infos man
*
At the moment, your subject registration only requires you to add subjects into your study plan for the next semester, as well as already print out your pre-set time table. But, i left my foundation 2-3 years back man, I'm not sure how things work now. If you can be present, then you should. Because you need to know how the system works, it's important when it comes to choosing the right lecturers and the right classes depending on your schedule.

As for the scholarships, you can go all out and apply for scholarships. But the thing is, you're not guaranteed a scholarship now, are you? brows.gif
Do apply for ptptn as well, this is really important. Just fill in the forms right, complete all the formalities, and ptptn loan is yours. And if you succeed in getting a scholarship, your new funder will deal with your ptptn loan. Where your ptptn loan gets paid off by your scholarship, and you're now a scholar.

oh. so i'll apply for the ptptn once i get settled down there. deadline should not be closing in, i think probably by 30 MAY

on a more important question, any recommendations for lecturers for foundation in mechanical engineering brows.gif i need senior's experience to tell me these tyoe of stuff.

and also to confirm, registration of subject is only for the next sem and the first sem is already set right ? cannot don anything much for first sem ?
*
As for the subject registration bit, I cannot confirm that. The management is retarded, i'm not sure if they've changed their policy. You'll find out when you find out okay? icon_rolleyes.gif

And about the lecturers, i can't really remember names. Calculus you can take Cik Norshahida or Madam Zarina. Physics, all 3 of my lecturers were blah.. Chemistry also blah..
Well basically, you don't have to worry about lecturers during your foundation man. It's your degree that matters.

Have fun during Kor Uniten though brows.gif

You seem like a very very lost person atm. haha
There're only 4 kelompoks, which are: Cendikiawan, Amanah, Murni and Ilmu.
Orientation times will all be the same.

For Kelompok orientation, I think it'll start according to the Kelompok's committee planning and might be at same time too. Probably in the noon smile.gif

I didn't remember having kelompok orientation during my intake.
Heck, I joined in November, they didn't really care about us.
