Foreigners actually have 'higher status' and priority over us local students

QUOTE(Seager @ Mar 17 2011, 08:34 PM) I believe it actually means the weight of the subject. To be clearer;I'll give you an example, an important subject can carry up to 4 credit hours per semester, with 4+ hours of lecture and possible tutorial sessions a week. On the other hand, you can also have 3 credit hour subjects with 2-3 hours of lectures a week, with/without tutorials. Then again, you could also have a 5 hour long lab session every week, but it only carries 1 credit hour. It's the weight of the subject. Hope this helps Normal classes is 1 hour per 1 credit hour. IT Labs are 2 hour per 1 credit hour. Engineering labs I think 5 hour per 1 credit hour. Curriculum is 3 hour per 1 credit hour. There's a minimum credit hour per sem but I kinda forgot how much it was |

QUOTE(ganz @ Mar 28 2011, 09:57 AM) back in 1998-2000.. uniten was the expensive place to learn.. It's a private so it's given to be expensive but their greed has been extreme. Last I was in 350 for IT subjects and 400 for CS. These days, can't say I know. And that's IT/CS subjects which are cheaper than Engine subjects.back then.. it cost me RM300+ per credit hour while the other two Uni (UTP and MMU) just charge half of it.. end up with (with lack of facilities -at that time) now with this http://www.utusan.com.my/utusan/info.asp?y...um&pg=fo_02.htm don't know how much will cost u.. Here's some increase in fees while I was in (from my ledger balance). Apartment: Amanah - from 170 to 180 (during change from paid internet to 'free' internet) Cendi - from 235 to 245 (same as above) These days I think Amanah - 200 Cendi - 280 Electric not included Tuition fees: Foundation - 6000 to 8000 around a year later. These days I think it's 9000. Degree - No raise. I know there was quite a few ruckus and announcement for raise of fees but it wasn't there in my ledger so I guess I wasn't affected This post has been edited by exentric_nova: Mar 28 2011, 10:25 AM |

QUOTE(Seager @ Apr 1 2011, 10:32 PM) I call DSS as MPH as well. UNITEN LOVES recognition. They'll do anything and everything to get famous. Except for being good to the students.Putrajaya as Bangi? I'd usually say Kajang/Bangi. After all, it's located on Lebuhraya Kajang-Puchong mah lol Not sure when they changed the name too. One thing i do know though, it's no longer COE food court, it's now Ingenieur Food Court. Putrajaya is certainly more classy than Bangi. Dewan Sri Sarjana sounds more unique than a simple Multi Purpose Hall. College of Engineering vs Ingenieur? It's kinda obvious which one sounds more awsum. ITMS vs KMC, this one I don't even know what they stands for in the first place so don't care |

If you're feeling really tight, you can always cook. You can't bring any kind of stove but microwave, rice cooker, oven are okay.

QUOTE(Seager @ Apr 4 2011, 11:04 AM) Induction cooker uses electricity la, and it's not on the list of prohibited items i think, because my friend uses it Yes I know induction uses electricity But that's the rule. I know I read them previously. All kind of stove are not allowed. Another one is only minibar is allowed. Those bigger fridges are not allowed. Washing machine too. And yes there are people who bring them. As for your friends, well, you yourself have broken how many college rules? Not fully formal on Monday? No shoes to class? Round neck t-shirts? No ID displayed walking around the campus? This post has been edited by exentric_nova: Apr 4 2011, 11:11 AM |

QUOTE(kuaq11 @ Apr 4 2011, 01:03 PM) Allowance are dependent on loan/scholarship no? They're given by semester (except JPA which gives monthly I think). YTN I believe more than PTPTN. PTPTN I think around 2000. There's 3 semester per year.QUOTE(Ballard @ Apr 4 2011, 01:16 PM) Hey, anybody know of any cheap hotels or guesthouses near to the uni? I'll be there for a brief visit next week and don't want to splash on a hotel. Anything with a roof and a door suits me, as long as its reasonably close to campus. Can't say I know much about hotels, but here's one. Rooms are less than 100 per night.http://www.suninnshotel.com.my/# |
