at low tier, do not expect some high accuracy, when u get last gun of Churchill1, u can feel the power tongue.gif

I actually switched back to the 6pdr after unlocking the 75mm. I much preferred the pew pew to the slow, but accurate fire.

Yeah when me with 2 other try to defend the flank, suddenly half the enemy team appear out of nowhere while my team with "superior" number on the other flank just die with much much less enemy there.  sweat.gif

This happens suprisingly often.

I have no idea why.

It's a good feeling to be on the side of the fewer tanks that successfully holds or even destroys the enemy tanks though. biggrin.gif (There's one time my JT 8.8 hold off six tanks with only a Tiger and T29 helping. Got Steel Wall for that.)

hi guys, im downloading the game now, a total beginner myself. Does anyone mind providing me with details on which type of tank is superior over others? For example, LT>TD etc. I've read the guide on the website, but then info from fellow players do come useful and more 'pratical' if you know what i mean. I'm considering playing LT till the end, kinda playing tag, hit and run lol. Thanks.
*
Welcome to the game.

First off, there's no true superior tank. Each tank has their own playstyle, and its up to you to choose which one. Just fool around with each countries' tank until you find your fit. Note that Tier I-III plays very differently from Tier IV onwards.

From the sounds of it, you're actually talking about medium tanks, since that is their job. A true LT is only used to scout and maybe to take out opposing SPGs, especially on high tier games.

and how's tier I-III different from tier IV onwards. I'm wanting to play a tank which has more mobility and can do moderate damage to the opponent, so i gather i should be focusing on MTs?
*
Tier I-IIIs (and sometimes IV) are made up exclusively of light tanks. (US and British meds excepted. Even then, they are just light tanks in all but name.) Basically, armour don't come into play here. Just point and shoot and you're almost guaranteed to penetrate something. The side with the most accurate players wins.

Tier IV is where you start encountering true heavy tanks (B1, AMX 40, Matilda) and where armour starts to make a difference. Most heavy tanks start at Tier V (T1 Heavy, KV-1, Churchill 1) and the roles of each tank become more clearly differentiated. The game's playstyle becomes radically different at this point, where heavy tanks are expected to lead the push and brute force their way through lines, mediums to support heavies, lights to help scout, TDs to snipe off heavy tanks and SPGs to wreck havoc on enemy tanks.

-5th when using >Tier 5 arty and there's more than 3 arty in each team, its critical to counter-battery. or at least if not counter-battery, learn to shoot n scoot. means relocate after each shot. to counter-battery, patient & observant is a MUST. its not easy to see those tiny tracers, but trust me - its worth it  nod.gif

i have my fair share when its come to counter-battery. mostly i managed to hit them 1st. sometime i get counter'd.
*
I don't get countered too often, since I usually shoot and scoot unless there's only like one arty piece per team. Be warned that if you're on counter-battery duty, you're not supporting your team at all. (So please don't do this if you're the only arty in the team) If by the 3-4 minute mark you don't see anything, best start supporting your own heavies by pounding the other side instead of hoping to see a tracer and maybe getting a kill.

EDIT: Got a sniper medal with my SU-26. Many lulz to be had.

i agree with u . random battle is just boring when u are playing alone . most of time was a losing game . i love to platoon with my clan member , have higher chance to win a games .

And hello Grif  biggrin.gif

Heya. smile.gif

Actually, I play alone or with my brother most of the time. Though grinding stock tanks without platoons is not recommended. Pub games expect you to perform at your best if you want to carry them to a win. Which you need to do a lot of the time.

Maybe it's time to clan up.
I think I've played pretty decently so far.
Plugged my name into: http://wot-news.com/stat/calc/en/us
I'm mid-1500s in efficiency, so apparently that's top 2%. Which really doesn't mean much. I'm just a bit tired of underperforming teammates.

I got 1350-ish. But that may be because I fooled around alot during my early days. smile.gif

Easiest way to explain. Also known as all (or most) tanks going in one direction without caring for the other side.

Anyone here use Soviet's SPG S-51? Coz I just buy it (on 50% discounts now), and quite sad with the stock gun's accuracy. Its soooo horrible that I barely hit anything. I cant even hit enemy SPG even though its been light-up by scouts sad.gif

And 16 rounds per battle is just too little cry.gif
*
Aye, stock gun is just horrible on the S-51/SU-14. Even more so in the SU-14 since you can't actually move a lot while stock. (With fully upgraded crews and modules, it is a little better, but mobility remains an issue.)

If you have free EXP, use it on the 203mm. You won't regret it.

Rocking and rolling with the LB-1. Heh heh heh.

Did you guys know the 122mm is actually the historical gun mounted on the T-44?

Had a few good match in my T-44 today. One was particularly memorable on how me, a SuperPershing and SU-101M held off five enemy on our own after they killed the lemming part of our team.

You lo. tongue.gif

In other news, the 155mm is really driving up the wall. Damn gun bounces at the wonkiest target. (My best WTF? moment is when my T30 bounce off a S-51.)

I tracked a VK2801 with my T30 with no damage. Okay, maybe not as bad as bouncing ELC though.

Then again, M7 was always known to have troll frontal armour.
