emoticons here are free so wanna fully utilize it to show the amount of my gratitude  thumbup.gif

thx alot for all the great tips! i hav somethings to clarify  sweat.gif .... if u have time....
fully agreed!  thumbup.gif
ok i will keep it as backup racket thx for the tips on when to use this backup racket... as i fore see tht i definitely will seldom get to utilize my backup racket...
i understood this part, thx alot! but i need to clarify a bit: i already have 1 pack of synthetic string but dun intend to use it so soon... so let say i have been using this cheap poly at 45lbs for 5 months, then it putus, so i want to put this synthetic gut tht i already have, so wat tension would u reccomend? since im changing from poly to synthetic? is it still 45lbs? or slightly higher? or at 60+lbs oso can?
ohh i see....
hav u used before cyber blue gear? i also got 1 and a half pack of this string...
ok will ask altezza... thx!  thumbup.gif

I would cut out the cheap poly after 2 months, you will be hurting your arm, as the poly will be dead by then, it won't be responsive anymore. But if you budget don't allow, play till the strings burst loh.

If you are going from poly to synthetic, the only thing synthetic offers is comfort ability on your arm, I doubt it will enhance your game as it does not offer the same things as poly's. You probably notice when using poly you don't have to re-adjust your strings, with synthetic gut you will, if your poly needs re-adjusting that means the poly is dead......

If you gonna use synthetic I 'd string it a good 7-10% higher than what you strung for poly.

Cyber blue gear?!
I have heard and used Topspin Cyber Flash (but this isn't blue) and topspin Cyber Blue (which is blue) but there is no gear in the name....or do you mean Pro Supex Blue Gear? (yan had the white version but still the same as blue version?)
Both are good quality strings.

Pro Supex Blue Gear was the best string of its time!
I first used this back in early 2007. It blew my mind!
This is a good string, BUT compared to newer technology its not as great , but this string will make my top 10 polys for sure!

Hahahaha to be honest more expensive poly's die faster!
Why you think Luxilon is the most used poly in the ATP/WTA tour, its because it performs extraordinary well, but for a very limited time, I have heard pro's cut out the strings after 2 hours.Amateurs like us, or average income people cannot afford this luxury.....

The Taiwanese fella who beat Roddick is sponsored by Signum, hence the small 'S' at the throat area.

@prae,

How does the dead poly string feel like? cos i've been using my poly strings for almost 3 months - Tecnifibre redcode and it still feels great for me... I've got a problem to break the string so its really value for money for me as it lasts very long...but alot of my frens also said their strings are dead n all and they will cut it. so i'm pretty curious...

Added on July 6, 2010, 1:39 pmI've tried signum pro poly plasma , topspin cyber blue , pacific poly force, RC , BC.. i feel all this strings are also very nice strings.. cant really tell much difference between them ..

Added on July 6, 2010, 1:39 pmI think i'm comfortable with any co poly strings...

Added on July 6, 2010, 1:40 pmx fire also i love em but the onli annoying thing about them is that they move too much as time goes by...
*
This one may be you will need to learn by yourself to be honest, I can tell a freshly strung poly from a poly thats gonna die, just by hitting a few balls x-p

I think with experience you will slowly learn how.
The characteristics of dead poly, the ball doesn't dip quite as well as it did before, you notice balls are landing longer ie pass the baseline, strings are starting to move around, etc

If you are happy with your string and it does not affect your game, and you think you are still playing well with the string, stick with it. Change when you notice a change, or when it snaps, whichever is earlier.

Cross fire when it first came out was a God send! It's still generally accepted as a very good string, if you use cross fire, either string it low....and see the crazy amount of spin, if you are feeling brave, string your racket with kevlar mains and use poly as cross's!!!
Have Fun :-D

Kipas .....

ahahaha carto don't take what I say literally lol your arm won't fall off, I promise!
I dun sabo people till like that leh lol

You must of tried crossfire, right?
So why not try crossfire, but with a slight difference, who know's you just may like it? Take it as a learning experience, if you dun like, at least next time, when people mention, you can contribute your input, rite?

If you like it...heheehe kau kau, you untung lah, your opponent also 'confuse' why all of a sudden your bola lain....you smile silently leh :-D

ooo... wa u r very creative... ok next time i will try tht, thx  icon_rolleyes.gif

i very long never use cross fire liaw.... cant remember the mains is suppose to me more tension or cross....  rclxub.gif

so for hybriding:
if i wanna hybrid pro supex blue gear with synthetic gut, if i string blue gear as main at 45lbs, then the tension for the synthetic cross will be at 7-10% higher from the mains, wil u recommend it?
*
oops may be you read that wrong I meant string 7-10% higher, if you are using full string bed for synthetic, not for hybrid.Hybrid if you poly you put 45 lbs, you can put synthetic at 45lbs as well or just a tad higher say 47 lbs, don't go for to much as you create uneven stress on your racket head which may cause warping.

Never count Fed out who knows next year he may win calender grand slam, tennis is a very unusual sport, like last years US Open, who would of out money on Del Poltro beating Fed in 5 sets.....

This year US Open I also dunno who got chance to win, may be Fed, he one of the most excellent records in US Open history next to Ivan Lendl.

aiyoooo pinky for footwork I need to see your 'actual' mistake if any leh, if I just say and you do 'wrong' thing also you learn bad foundation.....also you want to learn lasso forehand, even if I can teach it, if you don't have basic forehand , still wanna learn lasso, asking for trouble.....for sure, learn basic first get strong foundation, later if you wanna experiment with lasso forehand go for it, if you find out later its not it your liking at least you have your basic consistent forehand...correct or not?
