inline skating can lose weight provided you don't skate leisurely. as for equipment it depending on your skating style (leisure, slalom, aggressive).

i would suggest go for branded protective gears, when i was still active, i was using rollerblade gears from head to toe. My skate was a Lightning TRS+ankle mod.

Nowadays, K2 (brand) is still going strong from what i notice. Their slalom skates are quite a looker and should serve most skaters well..

i rather buy 2nd/3rd hand racquets coz i cant play for nuts if i sayang racquet.. my motto is, whack only, most importantly get the ball over the net using what ever technique.. i scratch my racquet like once a match!
