just my comment on this device.
i bought a MELE air mouse together, but i regret because if i plugged in air mouse USB toggle, the XBMC will not work.. this is known issue. if you are not going to use xbmc, then i recommend you to buy this air mouse, it is very handy and user friendly, it comes with physical keyboard as well. very useful especially typing alphabetic... alternatively you can use hicontrol app which work similarly but one bad part is your smartphone battery will drain a little faster than normal. anyone who wants a copy of xbmc app that suitable for q5, you may PM me..i will upload it for you FOC.

secondly about MELE air mouse, you cannot switch on/off device from this remote, the Android OS will go hang or freeze. you will need to use original Q5 remote controller to ON/OFF device. MELE air mouse is fully functionally with MELE media player only.

this Q5 will become very hot in a matter of minutes, so i suggest to buy fan cooling ventilation tray cost RM10 so that you can put q5 on it..thanks to the seller. it comes with USB type (but you will loose 1 usb because of the fan input)

i have been using this device for 2weeks. so far im happy. the performance is very good. once a while i encounter force close issue (if you use android you know what i mean - app stop responding) but not always...very seldom. the beauty is you still can hit home button and manually kill the app in application manager and continue using your q5 without need of reboot. this OS or firmware itself quite stable. the hicontrol and hishare works well thanks to the developer.

i can stream movies smoothly in xbmc, you must have 5mbps unifi connection at home.

connected my external 2.5 SFF HDD it works. it becomes your D: in file explorer.

youtube can play full HD - i love this.

overall happy with Q5 :-)

you can buy from the seller it cost me RM10 (i think he is getting from his friends computer shop)
you can get cheaper at lowyat.. mine is aluminium tray not PVC. so it works well with heat absorption.

bro.. bought two Himedia 600 almost 2 years ago and they are still running ok..

Just need to get another media player that is :

1. network ready, able to connect to LAN to stream movies via LAN cable.
2. must be FHD supported.
3. wifi is NOT important
4. internal HDD or USB/eSATA is NOT important
5. 3D supports is NOT important

Is Himedia 600 still the one ? or you have other new product to recommend?

why android box is better than android dongle:

the main problem for android dongle is it got serious overheat problem (this is chipset problem, all model will have de), it use mirco integrated chip, not suit for long time use (that is why those famous brand all dnt release dongle model de)

since the dongle without brand, for later firmware support all dnt have de

android dongle less connection port de, less usb port, weak wifi reception, without lan port, without output for amplifier

the android dongle size is small, but after u plug the power, plug the usb.. all the cable n device, u will find it looks more complicate

so we really not suggest take android dongle unless u just use for travel purpose de

Hi CCS211 I bought a Q5 from your shop yesterday but it has some issues;
1) it leaks electricity, giving me electric shocks when I touch it.
2) it does not shut down, and after shut down it revert back to stock launcher (i installed Axis launcher)
3) it does not detect my 3TB external WD My Book after the first time (after shut down and reboot)

any ideas whether this is normal or can I exchange with another unit?
