QUOTE(talexeh @ Aug 6 2010, 04:07 PM) There should be no issue in playing the games because unlike Steam, there is no client involved. About downloading, as long as the games are registered under your account, they should be good to go but don't quote me on that. The reason I said so is due to the fact that GGTwitter specifically assured me that there will be no issue in making purchase of ME2 from the UK GG domain (50% cashback of blue coins). I've tweeted them again to double confirm. Will get back to you once I got their response. sure sure~ GG offer sometimes is really good...btw, did u use playexpert?

QUOTE(talexeh @ Aug 6 2010, 04:34 PM) Good news! Reply as below: Nope, I don't use playxpert, not because it's unreliable but just to keep the installed applications in my PC to the minimum. can help me ask one more question? i wonder can i buy a game at one country, and installed at another country under same account. say, i went on travel and purchase a game, come back download and play...

QUOTE(talexeh @ Aug 6 2010, 04:59 PM) It's hard to ask this question since it's an open channel. I'll try to DM them instead. EDIT: I think should be no issue since Abyssio ( link) managed to purchase his games. Have to ask him for clarification if he managed to get his running. mmm.... i am just thinking about trying it with usd 15...

well...i must say, at least GG is more decent when treating their customer... the witcher still stands at 6.78, and i doubt they will remove ME2 before RPG week ends... speaking of which, i doubt the rest of three weeks will be as attractive...should be FPS, racing and sport and RTS weeks to follow. none of them as sexy as RPG to me~

QUOTE(talexeh @ Aug 6 2010, 08:04 PM) Not siding with any platforms & do correct me if I'm wrong but I think the reason The Witcher's price in Steam increased from $6.78 was due it being included in the daily special offer. Something like during the whole duration of Summer Sale, it was under 50% (example) & on a particular day, Steam decreased it further (like maybe 75%) for that day only. This might be the reason you deemed Steam as unethical... or something along that line. Based on GG's tweets, I think next week is going to be RTS week. go see the particular post at steam community, it is still there... a lot of ppl can be very certain than, it is not a daily it was there at least 3 days..

suprisingly...action week does not include games like prince of persia and assassin creed...mmm....to me it's more like a FPS week... but Batman is definitely a good catch, even it is not my cup of tea~
guys, go to gamersgate.co.uk to see the full list of promotion~ some might be for UK and NA only~

QUOTE(H@H@ @ Aug 18 2010, 02:28 AM) Nope, you can actually start in Offline mode even if you haven't signed in before hand. Steam has a "decay counter" so to speak that will kick in the moment you get disconnected. As long as this decay counter is still alive and kicking, you can still run it in Offline mode. Once it expires, it then disables Steam completely until you get online again. Now, the big question that everyone is wondering, is how long does this decay counter last (Some say its 2 weeks, some say 6 months) and in some cases, how it can sometimes get deactivated (Like hardware changes, etc.) erm...can actually start the game without open steam? go in steamapps, go in common, click on ur game go in binaries, find the launcher out... but i doubt u would earn any achievement if successfully play game this way..

QUOTE(H@H@ @ Aug 18 2010, 09:21 AM) Yeah, I know, but its not 100% (Like all Valve games can't work like this and certain Steamworks games as well), so I didn't want to mention it since I'm not too sure about the exceptions list. yea, but i guess all single player only games should work fine.. from the sound of the concern, the player only want to play the game offline,.. so try try no harm lo~

QUOTE(talexeh @ Aug 18 2010, 03:09 PM) Do a comparison between H.A.W.X. 2 in GG & Steam. In GG, the price is $69.90 & it needs 29% discount to even it with the price offered by Steam. I'm kind of curious who's the real culprit here. EDIT: Apparently 1 of the guys that I introduced to GG failed to get his Saints Row 2 installed properly. any idea why? i have no problem installing games submit any ticket to GG or try redownload? actually, for single player games, i prefer GG as long as it does not require massive patching...

most patches work fine with digital version...only some with DRM issue tat may provoke the problem on patches note, steam certainly did a better job, or more fulfilling job, as automatically patch ur game to the latest. of course, sometimes it takes time on gamersgate, if the game developer dont care, basically any patches release is good for the copy..
