Ashx did you have to download each game by itself since there is no download manager.

How do you resume when your line breaks?
*
After u've purchased a game, u can download sth like an exe file from a link under ur 'my games' tab.
The exe is actually the download manager for that specific game that u purchased. If u get disconnected halfway u can still resume ur download.

For anyone interested, GG is having a sale for Dawn of Discovery (Anno 1404) here at $9.99. Pretty good deal for a really fun game.

idiots.. both USD14.98 lol. Guess which i'd take biggrin.gif
BTW anyone remembered how much was in in summer sale in steam? i forgot. It wasn't in my main list at that time.

IIRC, steam had SotS (including all the expansions) for USD20. Seems good to me. SotS is really like Total War in space wink.gif

On a side note, GG also offers blue coin rewards for each purchase. These can be used to purchase games if u've got the right amount.
U can earn them by rating the games u've bought, writing reviews etc. Plus your membership status (white green black etc) can determine the amount of discount you get on certain games.

But i like, since its kinda hard to get these and it's not in steam.

KianW.. did you finish your CMSF?

How's Achtung Panzer like? Is it somewhat similar to Men of War?

Pity the Total Annihilation being sold in GG doesnt include it's expansions, or i would have gotten it on the spot with that price.

Its also got Securom activations for some stupid reason... I only realized it AFTER buying it in the last sale. Plus it doesn't have any music... Totally not recommended for nostalgia fans really sad.gif

No sound? Wow that sounds pretty bad. I really loved the OST by Jeremy Soule in the game, especially the battle music. It had this Star Wars feel with lots of energy behind it.

URGENT! Anyone interested to get a game from GamersGate today? I'm looking to get 2 or 3 games (BioShock, Recettear & Dead Space) & since there's a BUY-4-PAY-3 promotion going on, I was thinking if there's anyone who wanna join & we'll split the bill cleanly. It's a win-win so yeah, just drop me a PM or write something here as a follow up.

The Holiday Gift Guide Week 2 expires tonight so make it fast! notworthy.gif

Hmm, how would you be splitting the bill since only the cheapest game will get a 100% discount?

My take on Gamers Gate:

Pros:
1. Easy to download and install
2. DRM less intrusive compared to Steam and Stardock Impulse
3. Website is better laid out compared to Stardock Impulse
4. Region restriction not as rigid as Steam.
5. Some games are available in Gamer's Gate and are not available in Steam (my case was Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods).

Cons:
1. Backup of games takes some getting used to
2. Speed of download fluctuates a lot (probably due to Streamyx)
3. No Steamwork games (not fair to Gamers Gate though)
4. No automatic update / patch for games

Very few cons compared to pros (and most generally not Gamers Gate's fault)

In my opinion, some games are better to get from Gamers Gate (especially those without DLCs). Such as, Dead Rising 2, Gothic series and etc.

Not to mention it's also a good site for finding those obscure European games.
