using hotspotshield, i can get the discount available for US...
i wonder if i do the purchase, will i able to download and play the game when i off my shield?
btw, happy to have the witcher back~ 3 more gb to finish download~
*
There should be no issue in playing the games because unlike Steam, there is no client involved. About downloading, as long as the games are registered under your account, they should be good to go but don't quote me on that. The reason I said so is due to the fact that GGTwitter specifically assured me that there will be no issue in making purchase of ME2 from the UK GG domain (50% cashback of blue coins).

I've tweeted them again to double confirm. Will get back to you once I got their response. smile.gif

@talexeh Yes, you can gift over different regions, no worries about that! smile.gif You'll be able to download and play just fine.

Nope, I don't use playxpert, not because it's unreliable but just to keep the installed applications in my PC to the minimum.

i wonder can i buy a game at one country, and installed at another country under same account.
say, i went on travel and purchase a game, come back download and play...
*
It's hard to ask this question since it's an open channel. sad.gif I'll try to DM them instead. biggrin.gif

EDIT: I think should be no issue since Abyssio (link) managed to purchase his games. Have to ask him for clarification if he managed to get his running. tongue.gif

well...i must say, at least GG is more decent when treating their customer...
the witcher still stands at 6.78, and i doubt they will remove ME2 before RPG week ends...
speaking of which, i doubt the rest of three weeks will be as attractive...should be FPS, racing and sport and RTS weeks to follow. none of them as sexy as RPG to me~
*
Not siding with any platforms & do correct me if I'm wrong but I think the reason The Witcher's price in Steam increased from $6.78 was due it being included in the daily special offer. Something like during the whole duration of Summer Sale, it was under 50% (example) & on a particular day, Steam decreased it further (like maybe 75%) for that day only.

This might be the reason you deemed Steam as unethical... or something along that line. smile.gif

Based on GG's tweets, I think next week is going to be RTS week.

Yeah, that's 1 setback with GG. That's why it's good to spend some a few minutes reading up user reviews before making purchase.

Steam itself is a form of DRM. rolleyes.gif

This is understandable since GG is almost equivalent to retail version. Moreover, unlike Steam, GG doesn't involve a client, hence the need to include other kinds of DRM. Else, GG will be akin to safe haven for piracy. sad.gif

excuse me drm is?

Digital Rights Management. It's some kind of methods / mechanisms that developers / distributors integrate into their games to prevent unauthorized sharing or piracy. Steam itself is a form of DRM since you have to be tie the game to your Steam account. If you play the new StarCraft 2, the fact that you have to log into Bnet is a form of DRM too.

However, for GG, even though DRM is applied, they can help you reactivate the games. smile.gif

Do you use SecuRom or any other protection on the games?
Yes, some games got some kind of protection. This is done according to the agreement with the developers and publishers. However, the activation limit that may be on this protection is easy reset by an email to support@gamersgate.com. Any game bought on GamersGate is yours to download and install as many times as you like.

suprisingly...action week does not include games like prince of persia and assassin creed...mmm....to me it's more like a FPS week...
but Batman is definitely a good catch, even it is not my cup of tea~

guys, go to gamersgate.co.uk to see the full list of promotion~
some might be for UK and NA only~
*
I've checked NA region & found no difference. Did I miss out on anything? sweat.gif

EDIT: Ehh... GG added more games into the list! thumbup.gif

Like Steam, sometimes there are hidden gems that unfortunately were region locked, like last week's Mass Effect series & Dragon Age.

Yeah, GG is either very greedy or slowpoke in revising their game prices. Do note though that the currency sign for GG UK is in GBP (United Kingdom Pounds), not EUR (EURO). sweat.gif
