The first obstacle is to get Mod to pin this thread. whistling.gif

The old Combat Missions not Shock Forces.

I compared that to Order of War.

How's Achtung Panzer like? Is it somewhat similar to Men of War?

ahh... it's going to be a good weekend. CMSF for modern tactical sim war.. Steel Fury/AP for my WW2 tank fix, HoI3:SF for the general in me... Good times, good times.

http://www.gamersgate.com/DDB-NWN2G/neverw...s-2-gold-bundle

Keep in mind that DRM is involved here though. The package comes along with Neverwinter Nights 2 plus Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer.

Nice game.

Hard to find from retail.

Fortunately, mine cost around RM20 or so.

Got it as a gift from LowYat Forumer and got the expansion from youbeli when it was on sale, I think it's like RM10 or so.

Yea, most shops don't restock on these old games since the probability of someone looking for them is pretty low.

Guys, just FYI:
Paradox Sale ends on 27 July.
Platformer Week ends on 25 July.
Summer fun with Ubisoft ends on 31 July.
Both Heroes of Might & Magic 5 Gold & Silver Editions (50% discount) ends on 25 July.
Neverwinter Nights 2 Gold Bundle (50% discount) ends on 25 July.

Impulse & GamersGate Demand Respect

user posted image
QUOTE
Some people aren’t at all happy about those NPD charts  listing the most successful digital distribution services. Those people being, specifically, the bosses of two of the biggest services, which rather oddly didn’t make the top five – it instead being dominated by Valve, EA, Blizzard and Direct2Drive. Impulse and Gamersgate think something is rotten in the state of down-chart….

Big Download – which is one of those names I feel I would have to bellow in a deep voice whenever spoken aloud – did the digging, eliciting comments from important, but upset men:

Brad Wardell, Stardock/Impulse boss: “NPD’s numbers on digital don’t tend to have much reflection on reality. As much as I would love digital distribution to take over the world, I can’t think of a single publisher (including ourselves) that sells even close to a majority of its units digitally. I am a big believer in the future of digital distribution but the numbers we typically hear from publishers is that it’s about a third (which is pretty darn good, by the way).”

CEO Theodore Bergquist of Gamersgate: “We did read the report and were actually quite surprised. We do not disclose our sales numbers and we were also not contacted during the research period of this study. That being said, from our numbers and most importantly our conversations with the leading publishers in the industry, I know we are easily one of the top retailers.”

It’s an odd’un. NPD aren’t exactly greenhorns when it comes to stat-gathering, but then again they’ve been incredibly slow to encompass digital sales in their methodology, plus there’s no way in hell they have access to Valve or Blizzard’s sales figures. Then again, neither do Stardock or Gamersgate.

In retrospect, NPD should have included sales from Impulse and Gamer's Gate.

Actually I wondered where they would have gotten the data yar, because for sure as hell Blizzard is not giving their's for sure

Steam I could see them doing it since they are pretty much the leader.

But if Gamersgate is saying they did not get contacted I do not see where they got their data really....

One thing to note though is that IIRC the numbers showed were only for US, that could skew the results quite a bit as other platforms might be bigger in Europe/Asia or whatever.

You usually have to go to the GG site and it should be under the game in your account.

I just went through the FAQ,

•Patches

To patch your game you will need a patch for a digital version of the game. A patch for a disc version will not work. We are trying to always have the latest patches availible in the My Games section but if you think there is a patch missing, please contact us about it and we will acquire it from the developers.

•Please insert CD/DVD in drive C:

This problem may be due to...

1.You have got a demo of the game installed. Make sure you uninstall the demo before installing the full game.

2. You have patched the game with a patch for the disc version of the game. You must use a patch for a digital version of the game. If you cant find such patch on the official web sit or at the My Games section at GamersGate, please provide us the patch number and we will ask the developers about it.

3. Sometimes the "Run" option in Windows will not work. Download the file and double click it intead.

If you need assistance, you can send an email to support@gamersgate.com and you will be helped promptly.

None of the DD services have any obligation to give out this data since none of them are public listed companies (Even then, no one will know if its correct). Hence the reason its a pretty useless "survey".

Nowadays, most game patches works with all digitally downloaded games unless stated by DDs. For instance, il2/Steel fury/Achtung panzers for me, downloaded patch from game dev works. One thing kinda pisses me are highly modded games on steam. It's a pain to have a game with differend versions/mods e.g IL2. differend folders. 1 folder for SP, 1 for MP and 1 for mod testing and such.

For Achtung I read notes saying it was quite recommended to get it from the DD you bought it, so well, it might work but might be safer to get it from the right website.

I think due the DRM issue, that y the patch is different
if both retail and digital doesnt have DRM, then any patch will work

Kinda slow in replying but yeah, as mentioned by Gormaz, you're recommended to download patches from GG directly. If you noticed certain patch is not available in GG (but released in game developer's website), you can alert GG about it & allow them some time to get it done. smile.gif

By the way, Tales of Monkey Island Complete Season Bundle going thru 60% discount & currently tagged at $13.98.
