Upgraded to 2.36 via RSDlite last Friday. All the phone configs, apps and data are retained if you use the Service sbf. Got one reboot last night when exiting Google Market. Otherwise, it's been pretty stable.

No more autoplay music thumbup.gif

Can u check whether the back area still very hot when using hsdpa/3g connection?
*
Still warm. Didn't put a thermocouple to do a before and after though. So can't really compare performance...

The battery cover decal can be placed on the back screen as well. Problem is, after using swype, my hardware qwerty hardly gets used anymore.

of course it will. but if u do nandroid backup before the rooting process then u just need to restore the backup to unroot it back. (i'm not sure this is the right way to unroot becos i never tried)

another way to unroot probably to flash a new sbf file. make sure to flash the correct one.

all i can say, rooting is a safe process. just dont brick the phone.

"all i can say, rooting is a safe process. just dont brick the phone."

What are you saying? That there's still risk of bricking the phone in the process of rooting, but as long as you don't brick it, it's safe? blink.gif

I think it's more of an Android thing rather than a Motorola thing.

Just tried Rockplayer on my Milestone. Finally Divx, mkv and rmvb has been unleashed on our Android platform. Smooth as butter on the Milestone.

llobak,
Please edit the Rockplayer link when you "quoted" me. I was informed by another forumer that the earlier forum link I added discusses appz... Thank you.

JunkieG,
Please help remove the link as well. Thank you. By the way, watching 1280x720 resolution mkv on a 854x480 screen is a bit overkill IMO tongue.gif

I have to charge my milestone TWICE a day. Do you guys have this problem as well? Can't last more than 12 hours and I don't do much with it. A few short phone calls and a few SMSs. Little browsing.
*
Also check if you have widgets that is always syncing data (facebook, weather... etc). I am using Juicedefender and set to turn off 3G when my screen is locked. Can last 1.5 days on a single charge.

On the CDMA Droid upgrade to 2.2, they removed the hotspot and tethering feature saying the phone hardware is not able to support. WTF?! I think Verizon doesn't want their data infrastructure to go down from overuse. Hope they don't treat Milestone the same way.

I got mine yesterday!! wheee... love it!~

Anyway, anyone has any idea how could I just save few facebook friends into my contacts instead of everyone?
*
The closest you can do is to set your facebook sync settings to "Sync with existing contacts". This way, facebook only syncs to the friends you have created contacts for in your Contact Book.

Also, Papago X5 works wonderfully on the Milestone as an alternative GPS app if you don't want to be at the mercy of trying to get data connection in rural areas.
