QUOTE(rushmode @ Feb 9 2011, 03:55 PM) sorry.. i try to look where is the part that said motorola officially abandon froyo for milestone? cant find it.. dont understand this, basically there was a leak of official brazil and APAC rom. why would they abandon all of the sudden? its not like i care really. the amazing people over at xda already did a good job. gingerbread is out eventhough moto yet to release froyo. lets hope moto grow some conscience and unlocked the bootloaders. this part: QUOTE MotorolÄ… Hi there, thanks for the questions and comments. However during our internal testing and in our tests with operators, we revealed a number of issues in the update that could not be fixed. Resolving these issues was essential in ensuring you receive the best experience with our phone. Unfortunately as it could not be achieved and endangered future use, the update to Froyo is discontinued. A annoucement from Motorola will be made in due time. Once again, we apologise for all the delay and frustration and we hope you will continue to enjoy your milestone as we do.

sorry, guess the post i quote seems fake. the same person also post this: QUOTE MotorolÄ… @Dean Hope just accept the truth. We wil never release any update. In fact we never had the intention to release anything other than our new cool hardware. Just scrap your obsolet "Etch a Sketch" phone and go buy a nice Xoom tablet please.

QUOTE(scpt @ Feb 13 2011, 12:03 AM) I use SMS Backup & Restore app. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.r...MSBackupRestoreIt's works perfectly for me, it restores all ur sms n thread accordingly Don't try SMS BACKUP n2manager as it screws up the threads U guys should try Titanium backup for restoring game data, or for any other app for that matter (fyi, for sms it only backup settings, not the smses). I use Titanium for this when wiping data/doing fresh install of ROM and it does its job well. Game highscores, progress, settings etc. all get restored thanks for the tips. manage to backup my games+score and sms and then restore them back. now running on CM7. very nice

QUOTE(sinach @ Feb 23 2011, 03:18 PM) guys, i'm planning to upgrade my MS to GOT mod froyo tonite. as newbie, just try and error n base on internet instruction. anyway, what GOT Firmware for our region? is it UK firmware? what happen if i choose wrong firmware? really make me nervous. damn! why you want GOT rom? it is a very old rom, and drain battery very fast. try CM6 or APAC leaked rom is much better. EDIT: over XDA forum, there's now another new rom. O2 for Germany, comments of most people said it is much stable than APAC rom. here's the sbf link: Froyo SBFif flash by sbf will retain your data, but no root. also German keyboard the letter "z" and "y" are swapped in place. QUOTE(treeantz @ Feb 28 2011, 06:31 PM) hi all, I've finally decided to upgrade to leaked APAC or Cyanogen 7 but I'm not exactly sure how to proceed. I am currently running on old GOT before 2.2 even came up. Do i have to revert back to the stock version (original) before upgrading to APAC or Cyanogen? If yes, how can i revert back? I cant seem to download the SBF from moto website - looks like it has been taken down. Will this guide posted by one of our forumers work? http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1461907/+1640#Also i intend to start everything from scratch. no apps nothing ... easy. no need revert. 1. flash the latest 02 Germany sbf file, using rsd lite. 2. wipe everything (cache & data). 3. flash vulnerable recovery sbf using rsd lite. 4. run Open Recovery > change to qwerty keyboard > root phone > overclock (if needed) and you have latest froyo build by Moto for CM, just run Open Recovery and update to CM.

QUOTE(syapl @ Mar 4 2011, 09:11 PM) is there any guide for noob to flash it >.<" try many times cant get it you stuck at where? btw, just to make sure everyone understand. there is no Milestone at China, there it is known as XT702. and XT702 don't have google apps, so you have to use this to get google apps: http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/gapps/...1114-signed.zip1. download and extract the rar file. inside got another compressed gz file, extract it to get the sbf. 2. start phone on bootloader mode. use rsd lite to flash that sbf file. you are now a XT702 (Android 2.1) 3. download this update.zip file: http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Consum...3040/update.zip4. copy to your sd card. 5. restart in recovery mode.(press X or CAMERA button while powering up) 6. choose Update.zip 7. and now your phone is XT702 running Froyo. congrats!

QUOTE(sinach @ Mar 5 2011, 04:16 PM) bro, all contacts will automatically sync with backed up with google account, am i right? do we need to backup contacts before changing rom? anyway, love the chinese version. why different from normal Froyo? yes, it will sync with google account if you have one and enable sync. when i say backup, this is also one of the way to backup. seems at China Moto released it as XT702. it comes with few chinese apps but don't have Google apps, so you have to separate install it.

QUOTE(cyewe @ Mar 11 2011, 04:19 PM) if its 720p (1280x720) of video playback, i dont think it is possible to display that 720p resolution on 480x854 screen itself. but others phone like the xt720 can do hd playback and recording. i dont understand why the milestone is not capable of doing so ? isit limited by the hardware itself ? if the milestone's hardware camera itself is not capable of recording 720p videos then its ok la. but why cant a video playback of 720p since its screen resolution is same/greater than most phones with the ability of HD video playback. Milestone default speed only 550mhz. Maybe this is the reason.

i've tried playing H.264 720P video using Rockplayer, can play but but not smooth. as in very not smooth. i OC to 800Mhz
maybe the graphic hardware not design for 720P. or maybe the OS not optimized for 720P.
