depending on Manufacturer. most of the tablets coming out are of OS 2.1. There is no official tablet from Google so it's up to the manufacturer to provide the update.

I don't find any reason using a tablet other than for procrastination purpose.

For business/study use you'll do it better on netbook/notebook.

For mobility a smartphone is good.

Tablet? not for any practical purpose other than slacking...

Huh..? Just 1.5? That'll be bad... Don't see it in any shop so i cant test it out.

Osho, it's a cheaper alternative to an ipad. For example my situation, i am using a nokia5800. Quite sufficient for most web browsing duties with opera mini, and the phone can be used as dial up modem when i need it. However, i am also starting to read more ebooks and online manga and now felt like i needed something with bigger display.

I have a laptop, but most of the time i'll let my gf use it, that's why i've gotten myself this smartphone in the first place. Cheaper than netbook, faster up and down time (as my phone is always on, unlike a netbook i'd have to switch on and shutdown) easy to carry around, phone in pocket, i dont have to carry a bag around... Even as i'm replying here now, i'm using the phone. Yeah, smartphone is very convenient.

But now that i'm feeling like i needed something that can give me the same mobility (in the house, if going mamak i still have my phone ma...) and ease of use but with a bigger screen. In comes the ipad. Good idea, but for rm2.5k it's like paying for a laptop, but functionality less than a netbook. Plus, it's crazy to hold only a netbook one hour straight reading ebook, no? So tablets are quite a fit for my purpose. Couple it with running android, it'd be a good opportunity for me to feel how android are.
