Hi All,
Thought an update would be helpful to everyone. I managed to get the Logitech Harmony 300 from Singapore. It is available at Challenger for S$69 and a friend sent over by post. The Harmony 300 can control up to 4 devices. I checked locally, the distributor does not even bring to Malaysia.
The setup is quite straightforward. For my Sony TV and DVD player, the web based software searches the Logitech database and downloads the correct signals. For Astro B.yond, you need to teach the remote from the original one.
Just connect the Logitech via USB, register at the site harmony.com, sign in. Using the software, add a device Astro B.yond, then use Teach Command. Give a name to the button you are teaching, for example, Play. Point the B.yond remote to the back of the Harmony 300 (where there is an infrared sensor), press the button normally (just press and let go). The Harmony software will learn and store the command. Then use the button setup to drag and drop "Play" into the correct button on the Harmony 300. Repeat for all the buttons you need. Save, then do a sync. Test the remote, should work as planned.
A little complicated, but gets the job done. There are enough buttons on the Harmony to cater for every button on the Astro B.yond including the 4 colour, full screen, apps, aspect ratio, etc buttons.

Logitech Harmony 300Now I don't need to drag a remote upstairs and downstairs. I use the Harmony with my main TV downstairs and the Astro B.yond remote upstairs.
Hope the above helps.
Cheers!
