QUOTE(mastering89 @ Jun 25 2010, 02:43 PM) haha i just read the down part only. see pics for comparison... also anyone think they're up to some challenge come try this youtube link Can this be done with our 1870? since the 1870 is using the screw motor in our body unlike the 1855 lens used in the video. manual focus maybe? @mastering89: I'm a poor guy with only screw driven lens. If my 1870 go kaput maybe will try la, since not worth fixing it and no market value anyway ma Its been ages since I've handle some film camera. What I remember is buy ISO400 film and keep your hand as steady as possible

@lwliam: Maybe I should rephrase that what I mean is that's the only stuff I know bout photography. Only when I started this hobby for 1+ years only I learn more on shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and so on Back then, a day trip would only need about 3 rolls of film? Now in the digital era, normal trip can take easily exceed 100 photos This post has been edited by zeipher: Jun 25 2010, 06:30 PM

guys, when you're covering an event, do you use any diffuser for your flash? or just bounce flash is enough?

QUOTE(ieR @ Jun 28 2010, 07:20 PM) zeipher, understanding ur flash. if there is something blocking or diffusion ur flash, it will not go distance. apply some logic here diffuser works best at 3-8 meter distance and when the ceiling is too high(20 meter up). nearer u might get overexpose, too far, the flash cant reach u get underexpose. covering event, what is the shooting distance? ceiling distance etc. if u are shooting something u can go up to 2 meter close, use bounce. try not to bounce when ur subject is closer then 2 meter, coz the shadow from the bounce closer then 2 meter length are harsh. if u are shooting a stage event where u are 10-15 meter away, the best method is still direct flash. at 10 meter, the direct flash will not be as harsh as 3 meter direct flash. thanks for the reply it'll be an indoor party. well, it'll be my first time covering an event since the organizer don't plan to hire some pro photographers. 3 months time to improve my skills and understand my flash better
