QUOTE(tmj @ Jun 18 2010, 10:23 PM) im a newbie =D for bokeh a people use how much aperture nicer? because i saw some ppl shoot totally focus the whole people and behind totally bokeh, but i tried with my 50mm1.8f, but seem cant get the whole body of ppl. and need to walk too far for it from these it sounds like u need more readings..understand what aperture/shutter/iso does...n set the them according to achieve what u have in your mind..maybe u can do some simple trail&error to prove the theories u got from the reading..it makes u understand them better too.. |

QUOTE(mastering89 @ Jul 1 2010, 12:24 PM) just get one and sell it off after trip to japan. not really a bird lover..but well..i dont mind to have few shots too..better have it rather than regretting at the moment you need it. just cover the basis btw if you love bird photography, birds at Japan very-very friendly , usually they can jalan-jalan around people but only fly away if you're half a meter near to them. usually the burung merpati iinm QUOTE(signither @ Jul 1 2010, 12:22 PM) trying to bring minimum stuff..but my laptop n tripod are killing my back QUOTE(ahpingko @ Jul 1 2010, 12:21 PM) i ordered Big Danbo from Hasegawa d...huhu...this weekend gonna spam alot of danbo here.. haha..now u can start to think what to shoot already hope my danbo reach me safely... QUOTE(zstan @ Jul 1 2010, 12:13 PM) BUY BUY BUY!!! msia ringgit getting stronger =( feels as if i have a pay cut T_Taiyo..so bloody cheap la if convert to sing dollars.. Added on July 1, 2010, 12:14 pm u could always resell to me at an even lower price. if i wanna buy n resell..i might as well go rent one..there are few friendly dudes in singapore renting out their sony lenses...the last time i rented a 70200 for my friend's wedding..cost me 70sgd for 4days usage...which i think its pretty ok.. |

QUOTE(signither @ Jul 1 2010, 12:50 PM) how long u gonna be there? really need the tripod? means for long shutter only. coz for stabilization, u'll do good with a monopod, don't really need that long shutter. and if u really need tripod, how tall u need it? if not too tall and maybe u can put it on something else, a goriallapod might be a good choice for travel. so instead of a tripod, just bring monopod and/or gorillapod 11days there...yea..i need a tripod..1st coz im planning to shoot their night scape..imma a lil bit crazy for long exp..hehe...2nd thing is that if i bring monopod..how could i take a picture of myself n my gf together..lol..for gorilaz..well..its useful..i brought it to korea last year..but now my gear bcome alot more heavier..i need to upgrade my gorilaz too..and bcoz im not gonna bring alot of lenses...so my range is kinda limited..cannot always find something to put my gorilla yet not affected my orig compo.. QUOTE(zstan @ Jul 1 2010, 12:50 PM) im using manfrotto one..with ballhead..its almost 2kg....nah..not buyin carbon fiber one..at least not for my current usage.. |

hmm..wake up early today..gotta meet my potential client later to discuss about a commercial shot..
never really done any commercial product shots b4..any idea how much is the "market price"...? of coz i know diff photographer charges diff price..just need a rough price range so that i wont over/under charge for the shoot.. what the client needs : 1)Basic catalogue shots for website and print 2)Advertising shots the product would be something an Ipad....it has 80~90% of the ipad look as what i saw in engadget... |

QUOTE(zstan @ Jul 7 2010, 10:23 AM) that really depends.. how big is this project?how much revenue will they expect to get back through this advertisement? what kind of shot are you doing?with or without lightings? and you need to put in your cost for the prints as well. QUOTE the price can range from few hundred to few thousand and rarely but possibly, tens of thousand(if u are bold enough i know..i do have friend doing product shot for SGD15k per day..i consulted him..but he didnt really tried this kind of small shoots b4..lol..and of coz..i wouldnt compare me against him..so even for small scale shoot..his price might not be realistic for my standard.. |

@albnok
yea..i hate shooting reflective screens especially like those on macbook pro/ipad...very hard to get the reflection shape/angle right...but well i probably need to edit those thing anyway..coz the prototype set they pass to me probably cant be on..maybe jsut a dummy set..lol.. anyway..went to disucss about the project yesterday..and things went pretty smoothly..price offered was alot higher than what i expected...so i decided to give it a try..afterall i got nothing to lose even it is a scam..right?lol...at most just a few images which i dont really care that much =p any thoughts? |
