never really done any commercial product shots b4..any idea how much is the "market price"...? of coz i know diff photographer charges diff price..just need a rough price range so that i wont over/under charge for the shoot..

what the client needs :
1)Basic catalogue shots for website and print
2)Advertising shots

the product would be something an Ipad....it has 80~90% of the ipad look as what i saw in engadget...

well..im sure they wont tell me their revenue...but their product roughly priced @ SGD500 each(similar to ipad)...lighting??well..most of the product shots involve lighting of coz..and no printing cost for me..i only taking care of shooting..and editing(if needed)..
i know..i do have friend doing product shot for SGD15k per day..i consulted him..but he didnt really tried this kind of small shoots b4..lol..and of coz..i wouldnt compare me against him..so even for small scale shoot..his price might not be realistic for my standard..

Coz I bought the last 1 from The Curve ma. The guy there didnt even wanna take it out for me. I actually went in about 5 minutes earlier n another salesman brought out a new unit for me but I told him let me think about it 1st. 5 minutes later I went back n told the other salesman I want the Fisheye n he said no more stock. I told him dont bluff la, the other guy showed me new unit just 5 minutes ago only the fella sold it to me. He must have wanted last unit for himself. Dirty bugger. 
I really dont understand y so many ppl complaining about the menu. We're basically changing Aperture n ISO only most of the time. Aperture is damn easy by just turning the thumbwheel. ISO is just a few clicks but the Auto ISO from 200-1600 is more than enuf for most situations anyway. The only thing I really dont like about NEX is base ISO of 200. Makes a hell lot of diff when at bright places like the beach.

Bored so decided to write some rubbish from my brain with regards to replacing the kitlens with a 'better' lens.

Premium choice:

1. Carl Zeiss 16-35mm f2.8 zoom. You get full Zeiss goodness! 'nuff said.
    Bonus : This can be used on a FF cam too!

2. Carl Zeiss 16-80mm f3.5-f4.5 zoom. Baby Zeiss.

Budget choice:

1. SAL 16-105mm f3.5-f5.6 zoom. Almost Zeiss.
2. SAL 18-250mm f3.5-f6.3 zoom. Range, range, range.
3. Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 zoom. Best liked budget f2.8 lens for APS-C.
If you are planning to upgrade to full frame:

Premium choice:

1. Carl Zeiss 24-70mm f2.8 zoom. Best in its class! 'nuff said.

2. Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 HSM zoom. Close contender to the Zeiss.

Budget choice:

1. SAL 28-75mm f2.8 zoom.
2. SAL 24-105mm f3.5-f4.5 zoom. Discontinued - only while stocks lasts.
Most practical and cost effective solution:

Keep your kitlens and keep shooting until your skills forces you to change lenses!

yea..i hate shooting reflective screens especially like those on macbook pro/ipad...very hard to get the reflection shape/angle right...but well i probably need to edit those thing anyway..coz the prototype set they pass to me probably cant be on..maybe jsut a dummy set..lol..

anyway..went to disucss about the project yesterday..and things went pretty smoothly..price offered was alot higher than what i expected...so i decided to give it a try..afterall i got nothing to lose even it is a scam..right?lol...at most just a few images which i dont really care that much =p   any thoughts?
