i cant be sure for one, but i think those models dont need any 'crash course' on how to smile.. these are just friends that asked for a shoot for portfolio, modeling smiles dont come as second nature. and i dont know how to direct a model how to smile/pose etc..

so if YOU were there, what would you do if the pose/smile is not up to your par? how would u say it?

i would ask their permission, and adjust their face/hair/pose with my hands. or i would pose myself and let them see also.

no one slapping me yet. >< must be gentle la of coz. and dun take advantage go touch other place instead

try directing a 1st timer non-model on how to smile the way you want. poses are a different story. smiles, another.

zstan.... i have tried and trust me its not easy..but with patience and a lot of time you can do it...

ive posted up some pictures of my photoshoot in singapore ....you can see my work spread upon 3 days and 5 locations...

william... the iq of the photos are spot on.... but in terms of feel... i would say it comes with experience, time , and MANY shots.... most of the time what picture u imagine and what the model does are two seperate things...

its always a learning progress... zstan, your wording may be slightly irritating to william......seems like ur pointing faults rather than expressing an opinion...chill la guys...no fait..

actually in my noob opinion, smiling comes naturally.

usually those who camwhore all the time have good smiles as they are practicing everyday.

this model also did photoshooting for the first time but i find her smiling very good in my noob opinion.


anyway..there are different purposes for modelling shoots. some may require you to smile like angel while some don't really need you to have any facial expressions.

it all depends what mood you want. (but i still feel that girl can improve her smiling )

his pictures are good. no doubt about that. just feeling that model have a lot of improvement to do if she's really serious on being a model.

in b4 shooting a portfolio doesn't mean wanting to be a model.

absolutely agree on that, which is why i went for this photoshoot, as this area is where i am lacking.. but opportunities like these doesnt come by often.. even if they do, they dont come cheap..

best way that my uncle teach me to make a smile is to do silly things such as farting...then when the person starts to laugh or smile,burst all the way....
