whichever u see it, primes will very seldom, if ever, get beaten by a zoom. Moreover, you're comparing it with 55-200. No fight la. Angle of view will be around the same if that's what you're asking. Sharpness and aperture wise will lose out.

hahah...unless u are using a very good zoom, most primes will pwn zooms.... my 50mm 1.8 ( no longer mine ...) easily pwns the 17-50 tammy at 50mm.... but then again... its fixed...so u will find it pretty hard to used unless u really know what u wanna do


take a chellenge..only buy primes.! hahah....how i wish i started that way... you would see photography in a totally new light....

8tv, there's no such thing as which angle is better for apsc or ff. Its WHAT view you like to shoot in that determines it, not the other way around

try pusing-pusing your senapang leh. stick with selotep for a few while and try shoot with 30mm only. then try another time with 50mm.

i tried 50mm before and felt too tight, now try 28mm f/2.8 love the range/wide but prefer more speed/wider aperture

as i said~ tammy is the best all rounder poor man's zoom lens for apsc~ for less than 1.5k and constant f2.8 from 17-50mm~ mana mau cari~ of coz sharpness is not as good as the prime~ but 50mm is too tight on most indoor situation~ outdoor still okay~ and if during event~ 1750 is the fastest solution~ u got no time to keep changing wide and tigther primes all the time~ unless u got more than 1 body lar~
besides~ the tammy 1750 is oredi quite sharp even u compare to any zoom lens from Sony (CZ and G aside)~
