Just rooted my phone using the link above as well (thanks minlekoq!), but I can't find App2SD in the Market. How do I get it bro? *Android newbie*

PS: Just installed BusyBox through Titanium Backup, now looking up how exactly to JIT the phone. Wow, I'm spending more effort studying Android than I ever did in college studies!  laugh.gif

Just a reminder, the Busybox from Titanium Backup didn't really worked for me when I tried to JiT the phone, the Busybox on the market solved my problem. rclxm9.gif

Tried out the 2.2.1 MiniCM, I gotta say it's blazing fast alright. rclxms.gif

Only annoying thing is it'll reboot once you turn off USB storage. hmm.gif

Some screenshots to share

my phone show this M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
*
You can check your baseband by referring to the last 3 digits, so you got the right stuff there.

Also, check out the one finger pinch zoom if you haven't do so, now you can zoom out in Angry Birds!

Hey guys, anyone managed to overclock their X8 above 800 MHz?

I can only reach 787 MHz without rebooting. Pretty insane to load desktop webpages in a couple of seconds.

Simple solution, just update normally using SEUS or PC Companion.

finally move , and following step by step . there are few step not understand .

after finish "2.prepare" then it ask for turn off , when plug in usb and press back for turn on .

then will go "3.update" it request click mount after phone started .

**BUT , when i plug in usb and press back for on phone , i wont found usb connection on the top phone , it's not show connect to phone . **
*
sweat.gif You should see nothing on the phone when you perform the process. You need to hold the back button as you insert the cable.

Check the update progress on the monitor screen, it'll tell you to unplug your phone when it's done.

plug in then press back button right ?

but after phone on already , on the above cant found that usb are connected ... can i on already then plug in usb ?

cry.gif

Let me try and explain again:

1.) Turn off the phone and wait 5 seconds.

2.) While holding the back button with one hand, insert the usb cable.

3.) The update process will begin as indicated on the screen. Once it's done, unplug the cable and turn on the phone.

It'll take longer than usual during the first boot.

Most custom ROMs have already added the fake dual touch module, so you don't have to install it.

No it's not risky or complicate, if you want to install manually:

[attachmentid=2215801]

1. Copy the x8gesture.ko file into /system/lib/modules/ using root explorer.
2. Edit hw_config.sh in /system/etc/ and add this line at the beginning.

CODE
insmod /system/lib/modules/x8gesture.ko #dx: add gestures

3. Reboot phone and done.

This module enables pinch zoom and it's not the same with X10's dual touch, but it's better than nothing right? smile.gif

Guys, do you know any custom ROM with fully working camera and FMradio?

Floyo 0.20 is great and all but I really want VGA recording like stock ROM.

Is there any 3rd party stamina battery for X8 that is safe to use?

Charging once every 2 hours of surfing/gaming sucks, even with minimum brightness.

Well that's nice, don't forget to update it to Floyo 1.0.

I'll stick with FroyoBread 019 for now, no reason to change ROM so frequently..

Hye sifus, experts, seniors, n all....

the thing that i wanna ask is
1. is it safe to root and is there a link that show me the very step by step procedure to perform it...
       - how do i backup ALL things in the phone eg contacts, sms, etc....
2. if i do it wrongly, can i have the old system back...
3. what ROM is recommended for such a newbie like me...
4. is this service provided in low yat... (if there is how much)
5. what is the rate of stability and smoothness after rooting the phone...
*
1. Remember that rooting your phone voids the warranty, so make sure you know exactly what you're doing. Be sure to unroot your phone before sending it back to factory if you want to claim your warranty.

The process is very simple, download superoneclick from google and run it, plug in the usb between your phone and computer, enable usb debugging on your phone, let your computer install some drivers, and click on root. Done.

2. Once you've rooted your phone, install the busybox from market and install xrecovery, then you have to the ability to backup EVERYTHING on your phone and install custom ROMs and put Sony Ericsson's lousy firmware to shame.

3. Try FroyoBread v019, it's a mix of Android 2.2 Froyo with features ported from 2.3.4 Gingerbread

4. If you pay for this kinda stuffs, you're getting ripped off, period

5. Close to iPhone if you tweak things right.

FroyoBread v020 is released, get it while it's hot.

Sony Ericsson should just hire Doixanh to develop their firmwares, seriously.
