QUOTE(tehoice @ Dec 30 2010, 10:56 AM)

kind of agree with you,

1.) acceleration is so-so only.
2.) sounproff is not really good also.
3.) performance is very good after 2nd gear (at least to myself) engine is very responsive for that. from standstill? not really that good unless u floor the pedal.
4.) My full tank gets me around 430km city drive, and mind you, my usage is thru and return PJ - KL via federal highway during peak hours. can easily do 500km for highway drive. I think FC is depending on many factors like conditions and most impotantly your driving pattern. if u have a heavy right foot, then how are u going to save alot of fuel to be consumed for sure???
Well, for item 4, I am saying based on typical driver's experience. Cause many many many Malaysian drivers just want to floor the pedal. Follow cars as near as possible, cut queue during jams, short burst speed in jams and so on. All these are typical driving style for city drivers and for sure it will make FC very low on this car. I am quoting based on that. For myself, I do not drive like that and I get around 430km also for 80% city driving. My FC hurt a lot because everyday I need to pass-by some hilly housing area. But that hurts FC for any cars. Therefore, we cannot provide those personal driving style into the FC calculations.

And someone who speed at 140km/h complain about FC? LOL....any car also will get high FC on that kinda speed

BTW, this is Honda City thread satria89 is asking about Honda City. NOT recommendation for other cars. If you want to recommend other cars please post it in another thread.

Get ready to change it soon.

I changed mine within the warranty period as it was weak.Even the radio couldnt start up properly. It had sound coming out,but no wordings on the panel.

But now hardly a few months into the new battery,it feels weak again. The radio problem is happening again. The wordings sometimes disappear with only the sound. This is a sign of weak battery. And sometimes its hard to start the car.

Looks like I have to change the battery again.

My car is 1 year 7 months.Means in less than 2 years I am gonna need to change my battery twice which i feel is bad.
*
This could be a sign of alternator problem. Get the alternator checked in SC.

I did my 3rd supposedly free service yesterday at round 10,000+ mileage and had to pay RM203.00 because I got the car in April 2010 and it was past 6 months.

I had no idea that its either 10k km or 6 months whichever comes first.  shakehead.gif
*
Err..I thought this is common sense...the 10k or 6 months are all written in all terms and conditions, in the car service manual, in car brochure, in ads, in website for ALL cars being SOLD. You must be pretty ignorant to not know that.

As for my third service, I send to SC on 7th month mileage of around 9000k. I still get the free service as the SA is the one who wrote that service date previously. Cause he know my mileage is low, he added another month for my service date.

should be no problem. You just need to format the drive with FAT32.

My fren's 08' City (old version) can't start in the morning yesterday. Apparently his battery was flat out already. Problem is that he just changed to a new battery one year ago... so fast drain out?? hmm.gif
*
yes, possible for battery (especially cheap ones) to last only 1 year. Maybe also problem with alternator and other electrical system causing power leakage. Get the car checked.

I have sent my car to the SC in Bandar Sri Damansara and the 2 SC in PJ.. All also lousy and take very long to service.. Yes, I service it on weekdays before..

Other than the SC problems, my Honda City no problem.. Still as powerful and fuel-efficient as ever.. smile.gif
*
do you guys still send in your car without appointment?

You should send the car with appointment. Then it will be fast. I send mine on Sat and it was done faster than scheduled time. My last service is 4th service and took me around 1 hour only. Cause not many people there. Don't do walk in service anymore. This is not proton. Always insist on service by appointment. IF a SC don't have by appointment then scold them. Just like toyota now, they only take cars by appointment only.

And if they made you wait too long even with appointment then lodge a complain. Appointment is supposed to reduce the hassle of waiting for so long. Japanese companies take complains very seriously unlike P1/P2.

Hi there fellow HC3 members and founder bro sysh, interested in doing a bulk for Custom Sewed Car Coil Mat?

Sample of mat

user posted image
*
I got it for RM170. I thanks that's the standard price from the manufacturer at Subang for end users.

If you can get bulk for cheaper, go for it. Definitely better than those standard cut ones cause without the custom heel pad on the driver's side, the mat will wear and tear very fast.

You can change the iridium plugs in Honda SC. They do carry NGK iridium plugs. As for K&N filters, once you change it, it will void your Mass Air Flow Sensor warranty.
*
hmm...i thought by default city already comes with iridium plugs. Cause it is stated to change plugs at 100,000km which is the same for iridium plugs. As for filters, you can easily change it back to default if you want to claim warranty. That is why I still kept my ori air filter.

dude..no matter how much you have to pay also right? If always need to save money to go service then don't get honda/toyota/bmw/vw/kia/hyundai or go service in Ah Beng workshop.

I know this is harsh words but people just keep asking and asking....

once out from sc, took it on highway and rev it kau kau ..

ehh..1k service is totally free. No need to change anything. And you shouldn't do that until after 5k service.

last time my friend drove my NHC up to Genting, he kept saying not enough power and switch to S and use gear 1 to go up slope wtf man
*
This is someone who doesn't know how to control autogear and doesn't know how to drive up genting. I drove my S spec (that doesn't have sports mode) up without problem and using 2nd/3rd gear (mostly third). Never once it goes to first gear. You gotta learn about momentum and road ahead when driving up to genting.

from my research on the net, reading from various forum and talking to one of the SC advisor.. some NHC owner complaint that this car fuel consumption is not good for city driving..

one story that i heard from one sc staff, there are some NHC city owner did complaint to SC and the SC people forward it to Honda Malaysia.. but Honda people say that the fuel thing is subjective and depending on driving method...

my experience is.. the best i can get for 32 liter is around 340 max.. but other NHC owner can get around 400 ++.. kinda strange... hmm...
*
the problem is your driving style. You are most probably heavy foot on the accelerator like tailgating or follow cars closely and accelerate quickly in bumps and traffic light and jams and so on.

I can get 400km full tank with 90% city driving no problem. And if I want, I can get around 440km by driving very very light footed on the accelerator. But that is too boring for me. So, the yinyang balance I found is around 400km. This is actually good for me cause I learn how to drive without the rush feeling like most youngsters drive and I enjoy the ride in a relaxed manner without compromising speed too much. icon_rolleyes.gif

if you unplug your battery for so long you ECU will reset. You will have to "RETRAIN" your ECU.

Did 100k service few days back. Change spark plugs and all . Costs a bomb. Arnd 700 for everything.

No more servicing in sc after this..  icon_rolleyes.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif

think on the positive side..you save money on changing parts which P1/P2 will incur by 100k. If p1/p2, already changed how many spark plugs, timing belts, air-cond repair, auto-windows repair, and so on....

that also can consider total loss? Looks like engine was not affected. Only car body need to be fixed. Which insurance company?
