shorter loan term mean higher interest rate? mine is 3.2% for 5 years
*
That would be correct as banks will not each much for a shorter loan period hence a higher rate. I got mine @ 3% for 5 years though.

hey guys, i am going to do my 20k service this thurs.

do i need to do change my tyres?

is there a need to do so?

and do i need to switch tyre and do the balancing and alignment?
*
Changing tyres is subjective. Your tyre can last longer if u rarely drive the car and its under shade most of the time thus avoiding heat which creates cracks in your tyre. If u drive often then wear on the tyre is greater hence needing to change quicker than a car that is driven lesser. I had a Myvi which after 2 years its mileage is less than 18k and its parked under a roof most of the time n the tyres are in great shape icon_rolleyes.gif

About alignment, its suggested by SC to to rotation, alignment and balancing every 10k which means your car would have done once before and its time for the 2nd time. Some people do it every 5k as they pointed out that they usually drive on bumpy roads and the alignment goes out quicker than a car that zooms on a smooth highway.

Haha well said , i was about to say that too. I'm not sure whether there's anyone who mentioned this before.
I would like to ask whether anyone of you ( New City owner) experienced some sort of "loose sound under the car" whenever you drive on an uneven road. It sounds like the something is not tightly sealed/screwed...
Plus , the driver seat whenever you go over a bump a little bit faster , as your body losses contact and then when back portion of your body land back on the chair, it feeels like the seat is loose...
*
Yeah I got that. Some squeaks when I go on uneven roads and some rattling noise when I go into potholes. Its super hard for the SC to troubleshoot coz it doesn't happen all the time so mine's still an ongoing problem.

The loose seat issue is known in the City forums. Just have the SC tighten back the screws smile.gif

QUOTE(seiken @ May 20 2011, 11:37 PM)
I agree on this too, but engine vroom is clearly heard, wind noise at high speeds, and tyre noise...
*
Our car's insulation is crap...acceleration is clearly heard from gear 1-3 especially under hard acceleration. U can read Autocar Asean March 2011 edition where there is a comparison between Pug 207, Vios and City and its mention that the noise in the cabin is absurd!

Need help, my City air-con just kaput. Any service center open on Sunday. Cannot bear to wait until Monday. Thanks. cry.gif

Aww damn u driving the 5G city or the 4G one? If 5G then that's quick to have the air con KO.

hi guys... need some opinion here... icon_question.gif

im about to leave my car for 2 weeks..
should i pull battery cable?

will it drain my battery if not pulling out?

hope expert here can give opinion..

thanx... blush.gif
*
Dunno if the batt will die if u leave the car there for 2 weeks. My colleague left his Vios for 1 month and when he came back the batt is dead. Another colleague of mine practiced pulling out the batt connectors when he go for overseas work and this help avoid draining the batt power. So I suggest pulling it out to avoid draining your batt.

Fully agreed~ The most unbearable issue about NHC is the sound insulation. After warranty ends, I would definitely go for sound proof and also change to whole set of quiet tyres instead of using the damn lousy stock Goodyear
*
Sound proofing is the way to go but it adds weight and u need to spend $$$ on it while other cars sound insulation is better hence their owners save on that...sigh. About the tyre I got the same brand as u. Loud and balding quickly. I reckon another year or so before I need to change new set.

QUOTE(refugeez86 @ May 23 2011, 04:26 PM)
what u mean by retrain the ecu? hmm.gif
*
Means the ECU needs to learn your driving behavior again. Better acceleration and better FC are usually associated with an ECU that has learnt your driving habits. It also depends on what type of fuel ur using and how often u stick to that type of fuel too.

QUOTE(choon hon @ May 23 2011, 06:53 PM)
Oh do keep in touch regarding about the squeaky /rattling sound. Yeah, it doesn't happen all the time that's the problem.
*
It has been there for months. SC asked I monitor and bring in when the sound happens more often. They MUST fix it before the warranty ends.

more or less will be launch the facelift lastest by end of the year, or early next year..

source? it's just my prediction anyway tongue.gif

Based on common sense that every 3 years only launch facelift ma, so end of this year just fulfil the requirement..
*
Ur correct. Either end of this year or early next year. They better improve on the bloody crap sound insulation and at least add a button for all door lock and open like the Vios. Vehicle Stability Control addition like the new Jazz would be a very good feature to add and please a hidden radio antenna?
