Anyone went up to Genting with NHC before? I wonder if we use the paddle shifter to downshift the gear while going downhill, will it cause the gearbox to malfunction? Because the gear won't hold as it will engage to auto as soon as we leave it idle for a while, even in S mode, have to use the paddle shifter to downshift very often.

QUOTE(westlife @ May 19 2011, 06:14 PM)
today i went for my 20k service, 3 hrs spent. do the balancing and alignment too and rotate tyres.

prob found out, my rear left hand side rim was bent.

my rear left hand side absorber also gone case (but the SC replace for me automatically without informing me in advance, just let me sign the warranty claim form upon collecting my car.

want to ask, any safety issue on the rim that is bent? can it be fixed? how much does it cost?

or can only replace new one, how much?

thanks.
rim bengkok? i faced it for 3 times before.
just go to any tyre shop and burn it back.
less than myr 100 can settle.

replace a new one? it's hard to find exactly one piece of rim only.
easier to just change all four of them.

budget wise - burn it back.
look wise - change to 17 or 18 inch.

serious? so i am not the only one. glad to hear that. my car exactly 1 year old now only.
sianz, think one of my rim bent becos i kena a big hole one of the day recently.  sad.gif u know la. malaysia road condition.

emm. i am not going for third party rim at outside ah beng shop, i hate non-original stuff. i always stick to original parts. maybe i check with the service centre, how much does it cost to replace the rim. i believe they must have stock to sell for sure. at most need to order only. i like the original rim looks.
alternatively, maybe i will send to honda SC to repair my rim. if the cost is abt the same as new rim. i will opt for new rim instead. but need to leave the rim there for up to 2 week

to me 17 to 18 inch does not look nice, and it hurts FC too. i believe it also incur the risk in the case ur absorber got prob, and the SC may find excuse to reject ur warranty claim. i am not confirm if Honda will deny ur warranty claim if u change the parts. it happened to my friend case his one is P brand car.
but my main qns is that does it cause any safety issue for bent rim?  sweat.gif
Depends on which part is bent.
Usually wheel balance will be first to go out. You can hear some strange sound when the car is moving faster and the steering will shake, depends on front wheel or rear wheel.
If the bent part is near the tyre and it's deep, sometimes air might escape when there is a harsh vibration and resulting a punctured tyre.
Anyway, you should really go and fix the bent rims unless you are way broke this time of the year.
No point keeping that for memory.

hi guys... need some opinion here... icon_question.gif

im about to leave my car for 2 weeks..
should i pull battery cable?

will it drain my battery if not pulling out?

hope expert here can give opinion..

thanx... blush.gif

tried before. no need to unplug battery cable.
in fact, i left my car idle for 3 weeks.
when i reached home, i couldn't believe how dusty it was then. gee.
but it still can start and work fine.

thanks for the advice. I am actually got no issue spending the money to fix the bent rim. in fact, i am thinking of getting a new rim if the price is close. i am ok with that. want to fix all the flaws also.
*
you can try to check if you can get exactly one piece of the rims.
if you mean you want to change all 4 rims, the price difference will be at least myr 600 ~ 700?
not too sure about that.

Owh okay. Thanks. Anyway, what tyre would u guys recommend? Im looking for something silent.
*
No tyres can give you complete silence, since the NHC sound insulation is really terrible.
Instead, go put on some sound insulation material like sticking foam here and there and stick some mat into those bare metal area.
You'll get a much better result.

Added on May 26, 2011, 8:06 amAnyway, fixing dented rim for the 5th time now ever since I got the car. I think I better switch to a tractor to drive when I'm in M'sia.

Driver is ok, but passenger quite bad but not severe... car - total loss

Drive safe people ...
Hmm. Still can salvage quite something from there.
Good deal for the chop shop.

hmmm normal air will expand, is 35 psi hot or cold? as hot when 35, it will be less but if its cold at 35, when hot mah like 38 edy?

i am on nitro, 31 ... cold, but the last i refill, it was hot and measured still 31, i guess this is because nitro dont get hot that fast and dont expand easily...

well i guess ...
35 psi pumped at night. i thought the tyre will expand or burst during hot afternoon the next day, who knows it's still fine.
