QUOTE(nodeffect @ Aug 27 2010, 12:29 PM)
Let's talk about the performance? I own a new City bought it last month. It is now in 3000km. I wonder why the engine is so loud when I accelerate a bit harder, compare to Jazz, I think Jazz accelerate faster than City.

The acceleration speed for City is quite slow, I have to press the paddle harder to make faster speed but the engine noise is quite loud and the fuel comsumption becomes high.

Also, the brakes, need to press harder than Jazz to fully stop.

Izit because my City was still new? Anyone having this kind of problems ?
*
wait for after second service. The performance will start kicking in. Mine now can pickup much better already. But nothing much can be done on the FC cause it's different gearbox system. Don't expect to get the FC of the previous gen city. You want better FC then drive with super light right foot. Sure can get good FC.

Added on August 30, 2010, 11:46 amI also have this on my bumper. Mine have more scratch than yours. I didn't even know until I send it to SC and the service guy told me. Must have been scratched by some hit and run mofu.

Anyway, I don't wanna fix it yet...collect more first then only fix....hehe...

anyone using k&n drop in filter for their City VTEC?
*
LOL...lots of people in hc3msia forum already using k&n drop in filter. I strongly suggest you change to this filter if you are like me...lazy to take care of air filter. Just leave it there for 30,000 - 50,000 km then clean once. Less maintenance and a little bit extra power (very little). rclxms.gif

whats the average mileage for city driving u all getting?

mine about 300km

been wondering in S mode how high did you guys manage to rev up 2?

i see around 4k rpm the engine so loud like want to blow up d lol
*
hmm...a little heavy footed driver huh? If I drive very conservatively, I can get around 430km for 100% city driving. But nowadays, I found the balance between conservative and a little "fun" driving. Get around 390km per tank.

Just wondering, what is the mileage for you guys now? My car is 11 months old and 19,000 km.
*
Mine is 4200km only after 4 month. I had to send my car for second service at 3900km (3 month 2 weeks). LOL.....

sorry to hear about that, but i feel you man i feel you, getting more and more excited to get the car, sit inside, start the engine and vroom!
hahaha

i think i will need look for more shop, because the SA i encountered:
1. no discount
2. no tint
3. no gift
*
I think it also depends on the strategy of your approach. When I buy my car, I already told the SA I need the car urgently. So she didn't give me any discount at all. Just some simple free gifts.

Maybe, you can try approach the SA and say you still undecided whether to get City or Vios. If got some nice offer for City then most probably will go for city...see the SA want your sales or not. If want, they sure will offer you good discount.

in the morning i notice, when the engine just started, still cold, white fumes will come out from the exhaust. Is this normal for a new honda city?
*
white fumes? Correct me if I am wrong but that is the sign of water humid in your ekzos. This usually happen when you cold start the car. Especially after rain or in cold places.

u want a drag race...get a higher cc car or get a light car like kancil. Then you will get good pickup.

Driving mentality in Malaysia is really bad. People just want to cut queue and stop people cutting queue. Any hole can fit car...sure "masuk" only. What is the point? It's just a culture. Drive in US or Aus, you will feel the difference. No rush here and rush there.

That is why you see lots of bumps on the road. To stop people from driving fast. So, who should you blame for all the bumps around? The people who just want to accelerate only loh...

driving nhc is about knowing your gears and speed. Once you learn how the gear changes...stick to around 60km/h and you will get good fc. I am also 100% city driving..getting around 400km for full tank when the light comes out. However, I do travel a long LDP daily. Going to work..there are less traffic but going back is really jam. Somemore I often need to travel around my Taman and there are TONS of bumps and traffic light.

You just need to let the car accelerate slowly and not rev. People want to slot in...just let them be lah..no need to be kiasu.

by how i know Honda work, next year should have new facelift.
the problem now is when is it going to release =/
thought wanna buy it at year end or early next year... at the same time thought should wait for the new facelift... wonder am i able to wait it for so long or not ><
*
depends on you need the car now or not. If you do not need it urgently then you can wait. But the new facelift might end up looking lousy which you might not like. If you need the car urgent then just get any model on the CURRENT market.

Hi guys, any shop around KL for bodywork. Preferably around Jalan Ipoh/Segambut area. Thanks.
*
First, you car manual have list of all the workshops in WHOLE MALAYSIA. You can refer to that.

Second, honda's website list all of their workshop and showroom location with google map.

http://www.honda.com.my/tools/dealerlocator/

Is that so hard to do or you are just ignorant?

petrol station is my 2nd home..
*
If you are driving 100% city then 340km is quite normal. But it could still improve if you drive conservatively. Such as not following cars in front too closely. Step less on brake. Do less revving. Do slow pickup and so on.

If you do not want to sacrifice your driving style then 340km is normal, no need to complain to honda.

And with 100% city driving, I do not think your mileage will be that high. Unless you are doing sales and driving around town often. Petrol station your second home? How often you pump petrol?

Would you complain if a p1 or p2 do not have remote trunk release? The 90k you paid most of them go to malaysia boleh goverment. If you minus them up, the price is almost the same as you paid for a national car. What you pay is what you get does not apply for cars in malaysia. smile.gif

twice a week.. means tortoise driving style? my city FC is much more higher than civic 1.8 and 2.0..
i dont even touch my city during weekend and rather go for civic.
*
Full tank up to 500km is possible with NHC. With some highway driving and very light foot on accelerator.

Trust me...i have tried that. 100% city driving with 430km. I had to change my driving style to really light foot. Until feel so sleepy. See cars passing me left and right and can feel some scolding me also. But hey..you want to save petrol you drive conservatively.

You want fast acceleration, you sacrifice FC. That is true to driving all type of cars.

When I say drive conservatively I do not mean drive like tortoise only. Just no heavy rev. Let the car speed up at it's own pace. When possible, always stay at 60-80km/h. When driving uphill, go faster in advance so that your momentum help you in going up hill. When driving in city, there will be lots of bumps and congestion. Slow down in advance. Let the car glide.

I notice most Malaysians (including me before this) thinks that driving conservatively is just driving slow. But when in jam, they will follow car in front closely to avoid people cutting in (cause we also do this to people). So...fast accelerate then fast break..that actually takes up a lot of fuel. Which is the number one reason for high FC especially on NHC. You do this on Myvi or kancil or kelisa..it is okay because these cars a light and can accelerate fast with less fuel. Not with cars like NHC or Volvo.

Same thing also when approaching bumps. You already know bump is ahead but still wanna speed up. I notice that is true to almost 90% of people driving. They just speed up only eventhough they know got bump in front and when reach bump only want to slow down. This also waste a lot of petrol.

And, twice visit to petrol station in a week is not that bad even though it is considered quite frequent. You must be doing sales line to have spend more than 680km in 1 week. Even some people balik kampung weekly also not so much distance. I also drive to work daily and weekend also run errands. But I only go pump petrol every 8-10 days. Also 100% city driving.

wow, most of you guys can manage to get 400km above (city drive)

however my nhc is a bit high FC, only manage to get 11-12L/km on the meter - 90% city drive 10% highway

in the end, im only able to achieve 360km -380km.. sad.gif i was wondering how can some of the NHC owners can manage to achieve more than 400km just by driving in city only.. do i need to send my car for ecu-reset or any opinions from you guys? smile.gif

btw I'm a light-footer too, i don't rev more than 3000rpm
*
Please read what I already posted. It is not just about not driving your car up to 3000rpm. It's also about not stepping brake too much.

hello fellow owners,

want to ask about warranty-voiding thing...
what is the thing that you have mod when you gotten the car in the first place? and it doesn't void the warranty?

1. tyres
2. rims
3. alarm system (central locking)
4. remote boot release (?)
5. side step
6. third party bodykit

i tried to get a definite answer from the SA but she reluctant to give a proper answer
*
Based on the warranty manual...all these will VOID WARRANTY.

However, honda is not that strict yet. These are typical things people change to their car. And a lot of people does make those changes. So depending on whether you want to take the risk or not. Most people who own NHC has done all of those.

steering lock is so outdated. Get gear lock or better locktech.

Hi city owner,i might getting myself a new car next year...now considering new city , just wonder is this car worth to get for the price of rm90k or not?

My concern about this car is :
1.)Acceleration good or not since it using I-VTEC?
2.)Soundproof? when driving the car noise or quite?
3.)Hows the performance? feel sluggish when low rpm?
4.)FC?

Because now i driving waja 4g18 so thinking whether change to City is a wise choice or not.. hmm any sifus can put some advises here?

Appreciate alots man~
*
1) acceleration is not good for this car. ivtec only kicks in after 4.5k rpm.
2) soundproof is so-so only.
3) performance is not good if you are doing mostly city cause car is slow to accelerate. But at speed after 60km/h, this car is nice and FC also good at high speed. This car is more suited for highway.
4) Moderate FC only. Around 350km/h for city driving and 500km/h for highway. Full tank is around 32L-33L

Having said that, as owner of this car, I am quite satisfied with it. Cause I am no ahbengs that want to race my car or like to accelerate fast during traffic jams. This car is very nice to drive at cruising speed of around 80-100km/h. The quality of honda is definitely there compared to p1 or p2. Really depends on your requirement.
