BEFORE you get the PT170...or any Panny HT for that matter...please download the manual book first.. [attachmentid=1628378] Panny have a nasty habit of not accepting DTS signals other than the one from its built in DVD player. Read this (taken from: http://www.panasonic.com.my/web/pid/7999 ) Home Theater Reciever Dolby Pro Logic II for Disc/iPod/ Digital In/FM/AUX/AV In/USB*1 (for Movie, Music) There is no mention of DTS at all.DVD Features Built-in Dolby Digital & DTS Decoder So you guess it...only with the built in DVD player you will get those feature...Trust me on this....you have been warned! I heard for ultra low budget HTiB that offers Optical inputs and plays DTS/DD from it is Samsung..
Do some homework on what Samsung HT model is available at your local store. Even if there are 4 pages of HT sets to choice from only few models are actually available.
But remember this, you get what you pay for...at those low prices dun be surprise what the speakers does in only makes noise...there is no 'musical' or punch to it.
Download the manual book first for detail info on the available model just to make sure it meets your requirements
