Beberapa obat-obatan bisa berbahaya bagi GP, beberapa diantaranya bisa menyebabkan kematian atau enterotoxaemia (baca pengaruh antibiotik dan enterotoxaemia disini : http://www.petplace.com/small-mammals/anti...igs/page1.aspx)

Semua obat-obatan yang berasal dari penicillin adalah racun bagi guinea pig. Pastikan vet tidak memberikan obat-obatan yang tergolong ke dalam penicillin. Amoxicilin (Clavamox) adalah obat berbahaya yang paling sering salah diberikan oleh vet.

Pastikan GP Anda tidak diresepkan satu atau beberapa dari obat-obatan ini :

amoxicillin (Clavamox)
  ampicillin
  bacitracin
  cefadroxil
  cephalexin * (derivative: Cefadroxil)
  cephalosporins
  cephazolin
  chlortetracycline
  clindamycin
  dihydrostreptomycin
  erythromycin
  lincomycin
  oxytetracycline
  penicillin
  streptomycin

Sekedar info tambahan, beberapa obat-obatan ada yang bisa diberikan oral (diminum), topikal (dioleskan) maupun injeksi, tetapi ada pula yang aman diberikan secara injeksi tetapi tidak secara oral. Kalau seandainya ada alternatif yang lebih baik (misalnya topikal), sebaiknya hindari pemberian antibiotik secara injeksi.

normally those antibiotik are give out to human.. well if u visit the exotic vet they will know wat to give and wat not to giv.. but sometimes owner dont have a choice as there is only a few exotic vet in m'sia let alone kl... Dr. jenny just quit.. i found her to be the best.. but now v only can lay our gp on the trusty hand of dr. yeoh for now..

I just bought triangle toilet yesterday for rm22. Before this i made triangle with newspaper. I changd everyday or every 2 days. The paper will become really wet in 2 days. I think it is worth to buy triangle coz my fleece dont get wet at the corner plus it is bigger n also functiond as dust bin for yr cage wc u can empty n clean it every weekend.

Just buy the triangle when u got the money it is worth it.

Today just adopted a pair of female Shelties from someone.

Chubby piggies, I named them Caramel and Latte.

Can i buy a female gp because i already have 2male?

i got 1 abby.. named toto. but seems like he is lonely... where can i get him a partner? pet shop is good ? because i got my Toto from pet shop at Ikano the curve... at jusco kepong they selling for RM180 each. i think is a diff beed gua rite?

Yeah, but you need to trim their behind, legs and below regularly. Especially if you dont use fleece as bedding.

Speaking of that, anyone knows good electric trimmer for long-haired GPs? Juztiny?

he like stalk tats y i buy chubbygarden. the alfafa king he only eat stalk. -.-" all leaves wasted. tats y i change brand lo. but now bcome worst coz he dun like chubbygarden. haihz...

For whom are looking for guinea pig: I went Pet's Family last Saturday, there have lots of guinea pigs, got coronet too~ all in good health condition   

and I found a really special guinea pig in Pet's Family, it's called Hippo Pig

Only one tooth broke is ok, not very alarming as your GP still can chew the food.  The tooth can grow out very fast in a week.

The only precaution you have to check is to make sure its gum is not infected with bacteria, or else it will have jaw infection.

Wow..so expensive ah trimming teeth at vet can cost so much??

Like that I charge half price also can make a lot of $$ liao.
