GPU temperature above 70 celsius ?

Its that normal ?? From 63 Celsius to 70++Celsius when i start gaming .

Its normal i guess.
But as a precaution, clean the GPU heatsink and reapply thermal paste. |

Hmm, abit suspicious coz it jump more than 10celcius is kinda high ..
I did clean dust but the dust which stick on the heat sink hard to get off Have been search some forum some said normal some said the other way This post has been edited by Ahsin1987: Jun 14 2010, 11:07 AM |

once i face the same problem. turn out i forgot to peel away the plastic cover over the heatsink.

It's transparent. that's why i didn't notice it in a first place. when i removed the card to test the other card, i saw a notice in red "Please Remove Before Use".

70c is normal. Anyway can just try apply new good paste and clear the dust.

It's normal, graphics card gets hot when you're gaming since it's running at full load. If you want to lower temps, you can consider after market coolers like these ones:

better compared to my fren .
he was getting 88C idle on 4850 . then i did full clean and add better thermal paste and significantly drop to around 50C on idle . |

Seriously over 100 celsius ?? Won't get any trouble like bsode,error or auto shutdown stuff ??
I just try play modern warfare 2 and after i close the game Wow amazing increasing to 80++ celsius but so far i play still ok smooth and nothing happen ... The thing is just worried it will spoil my card This post has been edited by Ahsin1987: Jun 19 2010, 10:57 PM |

empangan...im worried tht my gc is reaching 70'c...i think its not advisable to put lots of heat into ur case...will effects other components also

temperature wise, 70-80 is considered acceptable .
u should worry when it start hitting 90 . |

if still worry, then get a good air flow casing, and add a fan to blow on the 8500gt heatsink.
