y nowadays i got new ip range

last time i is 60.53, 60.51.

now only can get 118, 115, 175

Do you get good connection with 175?

I think they have re-shuffled the IPs. Maybe the preparation for Unifi in many more areas soon is causing these slow downs. I think there was a similar problem when the first few areas were being prepared for Unifi too.

I wonder if Streamyx users in areas where Unifi are already available are facing slow downs? Or have they seen Streamyx connections stable after the Unifi came out in those areas?

can anybody find out why ping goes way beyond acceptable during peak hours? what is streamyx up to?

Ping to which sites? Provide sites and result. Also try to trace route to see where the problem may be happening.

What ping times do you get for 202.188.0.133 and 202.188.1.5?

Then the best is to keep complaining to TM giving them your test results. See if a trace route shows where the problem may be at and provide that to TM too.

anyone know how to change the ip address manually??

i remember that yesterday my ip was on 124.xx.xx.xxx

i can get full speed....

but on 60.xx.xx.xx only 3/4 speed

I think TM has re-shuffled IPs again. I am also getting IP ranges these few days which I wasn't getting last couple of months. Maybe they are assigning the good IPs to different areas at different times in turns so not everyone will complain all at once?

I have made a complaint about getting approx 30KB/s downloads speeds from international sites. Before this, on a 1M package, downloads speeds used to be approx 90-110KB/s.

I suggest all of you who are facing such low speeds call 1-300 88 9515 and make a complaint to TM as well. Before that, do a speed test at this link and then give them the results. I get 0.21-0.24Mbps.

While I was on a 2nd call with TM customer service making a further complaint, I was asking about why we were being capped. Then I heard him say to a colleague "Dia tahu pasal capping".

After querying him further, he said that there is capping, but not all customer service knows about it. Also not all customers will ask about capping. I guess that is why they just ask you to do trouble-shooting and try to put the blame on something else. I tink they have been instructed not to inform customers about capping.

SEE!!! Confirm already this time! the so call unlimited plan is over! so what can we do?!

Here is what I have found out so far.

There is capping / throttling. This is done by area / exchange. Some sort of limiter device has been installed which is doing auto-capping.

When a certain limit for bandwidth usage is reached for that area / exchange, the limiter kicks in and throttles down the connection. Until the bandwidth usage drops below the set limit.

The lower / minimum limit is based on your package. Meaning, if you are on a 1M package, you may be throttled down to 30KB/s (example only). If on a 4M package, it will go down to 100KB/s (example only). I think we users can easily test this and get the correct approx figures if we want.

This is being done for international downloads. Local downloads are not affected. My tests also indicate this. As in a previous post of mine, you can use this link to see what speed you get. This should be the international download speed unlike the normal TM speedometer which is local speed.

Please try it and report your package and speed. I get:
1 Mbps package = 0.27 Mbps.
