Hi, I have some GPS questions regarding my 5800. Why my map do not have the satellite signal bar at the bottom there?! i'm using OVI map v3.04. And i saw some of the screenshot in the internet there is the signal bar under the 3G symbol there.

Are you guys same as mine?!

But i found some of the blog saying the satellite signal strength bar has been removed in the new OVI map v3.04. Is this true?

Because when i tried to check the satellite signal manually in the 'GPS position' option, i can see there are about 4-5 satellite i have locked on...

Thanks for the info, Xploit Machine. BTW, after i dig some research, i finally got it...The OVI map v3.04 does not show the signal bar. It all represent by the red dot. As long as the red dot shows red color, it meant you are locked up the satellite.... =)

i have another question about the GPS. Currently, i enable the GPS and A-GPS. But i set the postioning method to be 'always ask'. So everytime i search my location or use navigation, it will prompt me saying that 'Connection to network positioning server required. Costs may be incurred', but normally i click no and i still can get my position and use the drive navigation.

So once i clicked 'no', is that meant i'm not using the A-GPS?...bit confused...

Hi gogoman86, thanks for the info. Now i know adi, they are the same whether i say 'yes' to connecting to position server or using A-GPS...hehe....BTW, if turn on the A-GPS, the data transfer will it be shown under log>data counter option?

Previously, i turned on the internet option to be 'online' under the map section. It's go to online everytime i search for location in the map and i notice it draining up my credit as i notice there are some data transfer when i check in the data counter. So now i have turned it off and now i everytime when i do the searching, it will be 'offline' mode. Whenever i can't find it, then i only turn to be 'online' mode..hehe
