Well, I think RTM did not broadcast any Full HD before including Beijing Olympic 2008. Because if u r watching normal Aerial without Astro is analogue signal including Astro decoder as well.

Maybe you think that there is a logo HD displayed at the top right then is HD. but actually is not, is down conversion tongue.gif

No, you are wrong, I did watch Beijing Olympic live broadcast in Full HD format in 2008, it is DVB-T broadcast, as you may know, RTM has been broadcasting TV1, TV2, MuzikTV in digital format few years already.

The Beijing Olympic Full HD broadcast was awesome, no ads, superb picture, that's why I wonder will they do it again for world cup 2010?

If u have digital tv tuner (USB or PCI), you can try scan the RTM digital frequency. Just connect your normal UHF antenna to it and scan the frequency.

They've been running this HD signal for quite few years already, so how do one participate in the test ? do they select area and give the DVB set top ? free to air HD sound nice, if only with equal quality of content smile.gif

Come on guys. These content comes at a fee to As*ro.
It costs them hundreds of million just for the rights for World Cup content in Malaysia.
Sometimes in last year, TM and Ast*ro were fighting for the World Cup content rights.

Business sense:
If RTM were to have it broadcasted, who would subscribe to As*ro Sport package.
If RTM were to have it boardcasted, RTM would have to pay a fee (not small fee) for the content.

RTM will telecast 24 matches live and 11 matches will be delayed telecasts.
The question is whether they will do HD or not. & I think the answer is no.
RTM is licensed broadcaster for WC 2010, off course they pay a fee to FIFA but not as much as Astro because Astro pay for all 64 match live & all in HD

No they have to pay As*ro as As*ro has exclusive right over the content.

This is exactly what I am wondering as well, because I also watched the RTM HD broadcast of the 2008 Olympics. I actually still have the RTM HD Olympics programs inside my TViX (with DVB-T tuner).

RTM never (cannot) announced the HD broadcast because it was based on trial run/testing of their DVB-T broadcast setup. So I think RTM did not need to pay for the broadcast fees, and hence they have to do it quietly.

So I am hoping RTM will do the same for this tiem FIFA WorldCup. Can someone pls confirm this??

I can't check now because my outdoor/rooftop UHF antenna and cable already koyak. I hope someone can confirm this before I rush out and purchase a new antenna and fix the cable as well.

Pls... anyone???

Thanks in advance.

/Jack.

1080p = Full HD. Normal HD = 720p/1080i. Someone mention here RTM broadcast olympic in Full HD.
From what I know, RTM don't have a capability to broadcast in Full HD 1080p.
