Steel series ikari not worth? my 1st choice is ikari...second is deathadder...
*
Ikari Laser retails at RM269 which is quite an overkill in my opinion unless you are talking about the Ikari Optical which retails at RM179. Still down to individual preference once again but like I've mentioned, I would prefer to take the Xai instead if I were to consider the Ikari Laser.

QUOTE(Honky @ Sep 24 2010, 08:25 AM)
I don't really know the difference between the 2 sorry  blush.gif , what I want though is absolute performance, and macro capabilities with onboard memory.

Currently, i'm looking at few options, Razer Mamba, Kone[+], Cyborg RAT7, and the Logitech G700.

So if budget is not an issue what's the best mouse i should get?
If Razer Mamba is the best mouse money can buy, i'd be getting it today.
*
Razer Mamba isn't too bad but does the price justify its performance I really don't know but I think it is a bit too expensive. From the few options you mentioned, I definitely agree with Cyclonechuah that the ROCCAT Kone[+] and Logitech G700 would be a better option.

QUOTE(Cyclonechuah @ Sep 24 2010, 09:46 AM)
hmm.... Razer Mamba, Kone[+], Cyborg RAT7, and the Logitech G700.

Just my personal opinion, i am you.

The consideration i will be thinking would be Kone[+] and Logitech G700.

Logitech always release solid mouse which we always know. and about Roccat kone[+] i have trusted Roccat Build quality since i brought Kone and Kave, both quality are Superb, so i'm selling my Kone to do a upgrade by getting Kone Plus
*
Nice, I'm also awaiting for Kone[+] to reach Malaysia, October is near! thumbup.gif

my advice is whatever new products release better wait and see, no hurry need to be first 1 to have it, if you want become white mouse then no problem. today i don't see any tech products are bugs free.
*
Some people would love to try new products as soon as they are released in the market. It's nice being among the first few but if anything goes wrong with the product then that can be frustrating. sweat.gif

well, hard to say.
there was once I went to squad battle with my squad mates, and the fella use some wireless mouse. At the last minute, suddenly he stopped, I screamed at him through skype, and he told me mouse battery finish already  doh.gif  doh.gif
*
That's why wireless gaming mouse these days offer you to charge the battery as you use as well. It's embarrassing to have the battery dead while gaming. sweat.gif

QUOTE(domo_kun @ Sep 24 2010, 09:59 PM)
installed the G500 to my PC without any hassle at all.

the scroller; i'm fine with it. the buttons; all are great.  thumbup.gif

but i really, really don't like this. picture this. i lift the mouse up about 1cm off the table, and i still can move the mouse. i'm like, omg, this is so not righttt. as i mentioned in my previous posts, i have a habit of lifting the mouse up very often, especially during gameplay. this is kinda annoying especially when the the cursor is moving around erratically when i lift the mouse up.  sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif

anyone having the same problem as i do? anyone know anyway to counter this problem?

else, i'll have no choice but to sell off this mouse.  sad.gif

please help.
*
So fast sell? You're going to lose out a lot bro. How serious does the cursor move around when you lift up the mouse? Based on my previous experience, the laser sensor is pretty much more sensitive and so those who like to drag and lift up the mouse while gaming will need to get used to it.

I guess there's a reason behind it, for example maybe the laser is meant to work that way in terms of sensitivity or else the performance will not be great. When I use a laser mouse for gaming and if I have to do more lifting and dragging, I will have to lift the mouse higher compared to an optical mouse or else the laser sensor will still pickup the movement. sweat.gif

@ TechnoG
you mean the mouse is built to be able to function like normal even if the mouse was lifted up to 2.4mm off the surface?  hmm.gif

@ yongkailoon
call me katak bawah tempurung, but i never experience such cursor movements before, even with my old ocz behemoth, hehe. example, my stop my cursor at x. when i lift it up, the cursor would end up don't know north, east, south or west of x, haha. perhaps, as you said it, i'm not used to such technoogy, yet. but then, it would be best if there is an option to disable such a feature.  smile.gif

that is the only cons, in my humble opinion, though i never use any other gaming mouse.  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Once you are used to it, then should be fine. Not unless your problem is that when you lift up, the cursor suddenly shoot all the way up, then I suspect there is something wrong. sweat.gif

thats why the xai got 1mm lift-off distance.
razer imperator and i guess new mamba firmware also can reduce it to 1mm.
all in the firmware tongue.gif

Added on September 24, 2010, 11:19 pm

1cm? are u sure?
take a bunch of CDs, put the sensor over the holes and see how many CDs before the sensor cant move.
1 CD roughly 1.2mm.
xai sensor = 1 CD.
some sensors 3 CDs also got, but 1cm is too much.
*
Lifting it 1cm and putting it back to the mousepad when in an intense battle during gaming is almost like slamming your mouse. laugh.gif

Typo error I suppose? If you mean lifting it then yes for me. I use low sensitivity for FPS games so will tend to lift it.

yea typo, i never lift mine too lazy, and i use high dpi.

I guess you don't play much of FPS games? If you do, then it's really rare to find players that plays with high sensitivity until you don't need to lift the mouse up. laugh.gif

mm-hmm, i guess i'll have to live and get used to it, then  icon_rolleyes.gif

oh, and yes, i'm using it directly on the table, hm

perhaps, because the the sensor is on the front and not in the middle?

haha, oh well  hmm.gif
*
Maybe you should invest in a mousepad too. It will bring out the full potential of your mouse. biggrin.gif

Every new gear will take some time to get used to it. When I changed to a new keyboard, I feel like my fingers are all over the place. For mouse, it was really uncomfortable at first but feels good after a while. biggrin.gif

Very true. If you visit CC often and you have a gaming mouse but just keep it at home then there's no point that you bought the gaming mouse in the first place. sweat.gif

No choice but to lower your sensitivity in this case.

Gaming is becoming like a sports (at least not really a career here in Malaysia) but it is already starting to pickup. Every gamer will need his/her own set of "guns" to dominate. laugh.gif

Gamers in US earn 5 figure sum every month?  hmm.gif
I guess because lack of those gaming companies.
*
In short:
1) Malaysian parents don't see e-sports as a career, usually will discourage their kids.
2) Lack of enough big tournaments with good prize money locally.
3) Sponsors are still not willing to splash their cash on players/teams = Teams/players won't get enough monthly salary.

this reminds me of a movie i once saw.
girl - i have a career.
guy - you're a gas station attendant, that's not a career it's a job.

so yea, why should parents see it as a career? u dont climb any corporate ladders.

and those in US earning money are obviously not the majority.
how many millions of ppl they have there?
*
True as well from your point of view. If we look at it in different perspectives, there are a lot of ways to look at gaming as a profession. biggrin.gif
