Hey guys. I know most of you guys are probably like Nintendo64? or N64? wtf is that?

Well for those of you who do know and especially if you played Smash Bros. on the N64, I'm sure most of you would agree with me that the console provided us with some of the best times of our lives when we were younger.

Anyway, to the point:
I have a major problem right now. I just came back from studying in the US, where I have happily managed to buy a used Nintendo 64 system there with the oldschool SMASH BROS and have been happily playing that game on its original system there for about 2 years. Now that I've graduated and returned home, I brought the system back with me.

The only thing is, I was shocked and crushed when I found out that the adapter/cable that's supposed to connect the the N64 to the tv DOESNT WORK, because the port size doesnt fit the ones on our local tvs here.

Now I'm calling out to all you super genius gurus out there for help! I'm sure most of you have owned a N64 at one point. Is there anywhere I can purchase the N64-TV cable for the local tvs here or maybe an adapter/connector sort of thing so that could adapt the cable to fit the local tvs here?

Or maybe if you have an old N64 cable laying around which u would be kind enough to give to me or sell me. Anything will do. I just wanna smash someone with DONKEY KONG!

Please! Desperate gamer in need of serious help!

I truly appreciate your time and patience in reading this topic. Please help me sort this problem out?
THANKS GUYS!!!! rclxms.gif smile.gif thumbup.gif notworthy.gif

N64 shares the same AV cable for SNES and Gamecube, not all that rare. I have at least 5 spares sitting around, but no, I'm not giving out, sorry.

Nice... The N64 is the only Nintendo system I have never owned... though I've since lost/misplaced the Game Boy, GBA and SNES... dammit.

not compatible? huh?

your cable issit SCART type? or the red white yellow type?

I suspect your's is the SCART type like this

if yes then you're out of luck, M'sia TV aren't equipped with such port, some older imported TV might have it

If it's not, mind to snap a pic of your cable? then all of us can have a better idea on what you're talking about?

For cable replacement, check this out
http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-2d95-7...4-j-70-13g.html

only RM10+, including free shipping to you, but have to wait a bit, since it's out of stock ATM

u can forget about buying from local stores, i doubt any of them still carry such relic from GC era

US doesn't use SCART, IIRC. It's a European system, I think.

SCART or not it doesn't really matter, N64 can't output RGB natively. So it's either composite, S-Video or RF. Most TVs don't have S-Video ports anymore so that should be it.

Erm no no it's nothing complicated like that. It's the type of cable that's supposed to be connected to the port where old school tv's antenna's are supposed to connect to. so it's a rounded head with a pin. the problem is, the US ports have a bigger diameter and the pin in the middle is also thinner than the ones we have here locally. =/
Will take and post up pics once I get home from work. thanks for helping guys!!!

PS: Oh and one more thing before I forget, any of you guys know where I can get N64 controllers? doensn't matter if it's been used as long as they are in good working condition. The springs on a few of mine have started to wear out me thinks. It was starting to get less responsive in game. THANKS GUUUYS!

You can get those RF cables from Giant/Carefour or something, really common.
