Really didn't expect that PIKOM would actually agree to this (thank to Si_Jali for forwarding my suggestion) but here we are, a Forza Motosport 3 qualifier for WCG Asian Championship 2010! Pretty much the first local qualifier for Xbox 360 games since WCGAC's inception.
These are the event’s rudimentary details:



It is a rather short notice but I guess this is still better than nothing. Do post up any questions here or you can shoot it up to my email - multiplay@lowyat.net - I'm going to handle this qualifier personally and single handedly. What did I just got myself into la...

UPDATE #1

First, let me start with the fact that I've never played FM3 extensively before as my 360 has 3RODed long before the game was released. So, please pardon me if you found couple of my decision is rather n00bish-like.

Anyway, I borrowed the game today and I realized that FM3 doesn't support System Link. So, this means that we have to change the tourney format from 1vs1 to Time Trial.
Some might asked, why not Split Screen instead? Well, MK84 pointed out that the WCG rules stated that the scoring is set to time based. That's one...and 2nd reason is that, PIKOM still not able to obtain LCD TVs for the event.

As for the cars, I'll get back to you later once I able to explore the game further but you definitely can't use your own car. You are still allowed to tune them, though.

as for the other one, i'm guessing that the XBox outputs standard AV (red/white) audio right?

you could use my overly complex but cheap and available method
(will post pics when i get home)

1. female-female RCA adapter
2. 3.5mm male to RCA male
3. 3.5mm splitter (1male to 2female)
4. ??? Headphones (3.5mm male)

overall cost should be around rm6-8 for 1-3. 4 is your own problem hahaha

connect 1 through to 4 and PROFIT!!

EDIT: I get it now, you're running it so thats why you need the VGA cable. not sure if i can make it on the day itself, but if you're free and in shah alam just gimme a holler (not a HALLER!) and i'll pass you the stuff.

Our Internet ain't that good what...besides, the venue is going to have 3 - 4 events at the same time with FM3 qualifier. So, I doubt they are able to secure the network for FM3.
Also, with such a short notice, I personally would like to keep the qualifier as simple as possible too. Less headache for everybody - players, organizer and yours truly.

Not to forget, its World Cup season liao!
