Hi there, I m about to start my own blogshop to sell contact lens online. I have some question on the courier service, but I search for many places still I didnt get the answer. So, I decided to post it up here.

1. What is the difference between PosExpress and PosLaju?
2. Do I have to buy the PosLaju/PosExpress box if I want to use the service? (I'm not sure with it, and I m only delivering contact lens, dont need such a big box)
3. Which services is better for me? Give some advice to me please. smile.gif
4. How do I send the contact lens? Find a box, wrap it then send it?
5. How to count the rates? If the postage for 1 pair is RM4.50, then 2 pairs is RM9?
6. And and, what is E-parcel? I heard it but have no idea what it is. :S

Or else, any other recommended courier servicer? I am only a newbie, trying to learn all this kinda things. xD

1. One is for letters, one is for letters and parcels

2. no

3. I guess poslaju or some other carrier

4. Yea, better wrap the box tightly with bubble wrap,

5. They count by weight (and some by volume.)

6. Poslaju's tracker.

Q-1
Pos ekspres - need to buy standard pos ekspres envelope.Usually for sending documents but can also send books or small lightweight stuff. Weight limit according to size of envelope. Got tracking but not secure as no need signatory of recipient. If lost Pos Malaysia will only replace envelope as compensation.

Poslaju - no need to buy box or envelope. Can send documents or parcels. No weight limit. Got tracking and secure as signatory is required. If lost Poslaju will compensate RM100/RM300 according to weight .

Q-2
If you want to use pos ekpres...yes you need to buy their pos ekspres envelope. For poslaju no need to buy their box or envelope. Can use your own if you want. For fragile stuff it is better is sent by poslaju because pos ekpres envelope usually will be handled roughly by the post office people unless you use enough padding. If you want cheaper option can also consider registered post but it's slower than poslaju. Secure and cheaper but slower.

Q-3
Better is you use poslaju to send your stuff. More secure and faster. However you should always take precaution to wrap your goods well before sending anything out to minimize damage during delivery. You can never be too careful just incase.

Q-4
Yes...very much recommended that you do wrap the it well...use newspapers or bubble wraps if you have then put them in good steady box (more padding inside the box) and if it were me I would wrap the box in a layer of bubble wrap or something for maximum protection thumbup.gif

Q-5
Rates vary according to weight of parcel. After finish wrapping the parcel you can weigh the box if you have a digital weigh at home and input the weight here at Pos Malaysia website for the rate --> http://www.pos.com.my/V1/main2.asp?c=/v1/t...aju/emsrate.asp. Rates for pos ekspres are standards...you can see the envelope sizes that are offered by Pos Malaysia--> http://www.pos.com.my/v1/main2.asp?C=/V1/P.../PosEkspres.htm

Q-6
E-parcel is just normal parcel. Nowadays Pos Malaysia upgrade the normal parcel with tracking that's all. The days for the parcel to arrive are usually 5 days ++ You need to fill in a form which look similar to poslaju form. If not sure just ask the Pos Malaysia staffs smile.gif

Hope these help answer your questions~cheers! wink.gif
