Good news to hear that you managed to purchased it. You will definitely love it alot. Now I'm wondering on how am I going to bring back my Edifier H530D when purchase from LowYat to my room.
Just want to check with you guys. Is it alright if I mod my stock speaker cable to a 12 AWG cable for my soon to be Edifier S530D. Will be purchasing S530D soon and was thinking to change the speaker cable to a 12 AWG cable. Is it possible as I do not want to damage my speaker. Kindly advise me. Thanks!
Speaker cable just to transfer signal from amplifier to your speaker, changing to a bigger size won't damage your speakers don't worry. You can try change to a better cable quality with same gauge size as your stock speaker cable, either pure copper or silver coated pure copper something.
Planning to change my speaker cable to a better one and DIY my own 3.5mm to RCA cable soon. Will be dropping by Jalan Pasar one day. After that, thinking to buy a proper external soundcard from Jaben. Currently Ibasso Boa is in my mind. Hehe!
Thanks guys for clearing up my doubt. Am just worried since this is my first time investing so much in a speaker.
Same here. My first speaker was some unknown speaker. Later got conned into purchasing a brand called Tsunami that cost me RM100 plus plus. Was really a noob during those time.
Went to lowyat today, too bad i out of time to audit the edifier speakers....
How come out of time? Try going there some other time again. Last two weekend when I wanted to visit the Edifier Showroom at 4th floor, the showroom was close. Had to audit my Edifier at Sri Comp.
Maybe I'm unlucky met the bad stuff. Viewnet selling RM169(discount to RM165) and Sir Com selling RM159.
Guess you're not the only one. I had a bad experience as well when purchasing my Edifier M3300 from Sri Comp. No matter how cheap their stuff is, I'll try my best to avoid them. But I guess not all the workers are like that.
Anyway, different store have different pricing. Viewnet could be cheaper in certain models where else Sri Com on other models.
Your best option is to remove the wired controller. I pitied you. I understand your feeling when you spent so much on a speaker and your roomate is vandilizing them.
My subwoofer is on table. . I think it's time to put below my table.
Yeah! Placed them on the floor. And where the hole output is, try facing it to the wall. You'll get better bass from this location. And get a decent soundcard. It'll be much better compare to your onboard soundcard.
Everyone can try to put this board under your satellites and woofer, reduce noise or vibration between table and speaker. This large board cost RM3.90 @ popular, cheap yet effective. My current design to fit my M3300 satellites
Will go back and try it on my M3300. Thanks for the advice bro.
Top up to about RM420. you should be able to get yourself a Edifier S330D or either Edifier C3. Both are great speakers. Go and audition yourself. If you must strictly follow your budget, then give Edifier M3300 a try. The bass may be weak, but you're able to install some software or either get yourself a external soundcard and you got ourself a nice speaker with great bass. M3300 clarity is awesome. Give it a try.
I'd say AudioGD is not bad.. Using Maverick D1 also not bad.. Can ask for some opinions from Jaben.. But ppl rather use soundcard.. I once heard a AudioGD DAC(iinm,is Compass),which is quite warm, very good pairing with R1900T3.. But once again, the price is not cheap either.. At that price u can get S530D+a not bad SC..
Planning to pair up my Edifier S530D with Maverick. Yet to try them out though. Just checked with Jaben and they're selling Maverick at RM770. I was wondering on whether is it logical to get a DAC that is more expensive then the speaker.
If u really were to upgrade,it is worth it.. Maverick D1 has tube and electronic amp to play with, quite fun.. My friend also planning to get it.. Sometimes they do give offers...
I will be trying them out soon enough. Will pay Jaben a visit one of this days.
Since I'm planning to get a Maverick, I may want to get a better speaker as compare to Edifier S530D to suit this DAC. I find it useless getting myself a DAC that is more expensive than the speaker. Correct me if I'm wrong here bro.
I'm those type who prefer to one shot buy a good speaker and hopefully this speaker can last me for the next 5 years. No money to always upgrade here. Saving for other plans. Hehe!
S530D for me is a real hi grade speakers, it can perform like most Hi-Fi, but only at close range.
An external DAC helps improve the sound, finding more expensive DAC than speaker is not a problem, as long as it worth it as it helps to max out the performance of the speakers.
Not only changing DAC and Speakers give you good sound, remember to find other factor to get squeeze out the performance like changing the speaker cable and interconnect cable, putting a board on bottom of the satellites speakers and woofer.
More performance can be squeeze out by modding the amps too.
Thats what i thought.
I'm planning to change my speaker cable by modding my own one. Will drop by at Jalan Pasar to purchase all my modding equipments. Thanks bro for all the advice. You have just cleared my doubts. I am still learning and everyone at here have been a great help to me.
hmm, what DAC would be good if pair with s530d?.. i m still new to DAC
Give Jaben a call and drop by at his shop to check on the various DAC. I'm eye-ing on Maverick to pair up with my Edifier. Is gonna cost you RM770 just for that. Or either Ibasso Boa, GoVibe and many more. I'm not an expert here. The best is to contact Yu Heng from Jaben.
Hey guys, does speaker need to charge ? I find out a weird thing of my M3400, For a cold start, the speaker sounds so weak, but after 10 minutes of blasting, the sound will turns better and louder. Something wrong with it ?
No worry bro. You're not the only one who experience that way. Most audio equipments will need to be warm up first before they're able to perform well.
that mean m3400 hv powerful bass but with least clarity? hmm..i think i should go audience it..
Might as well top up and get yourself a Edifier M3300. Though it may be weak in bass, but you can tweak the bass to make it better by using software. Using Foobar2000 and loving it ever since.
