hmmmn don't get too carried away while playing with multimedia speakers...
don't forget audiophile grade set always has nice caps inside stock
and stay true to the amp shit in shit out style...whats with the new gen of sets having nonsensical fancy digital display and stuff?
haha don't shoot me for this, but even a cheaper micro hifi set from panasonic sounds better and have fullset better caps compared to the multimedia speakers nowadays

For edifier headphone amp, it is only an amplifier for headphones because it needs to power some higher power headphones which normally a sound card cannot power it. Some headphone amplifier has Digital to Analog Converter(DAC) inside, works like an external sound card.

Take note, doesn't relate to full recapped micro hifi set.

chill... nothing's wrong with your speaker
it happen to most people also

most opamps and ic require a certain temperature to work well.
just like those tube amps. they need to heat up to get better sounding sound

new modern solid state ones derived from their ancestors tube.
so they all should also inherit their weakness

although modern science said that chilling things down would provide better conductivity. whistling.gif

No worry bro. You're not the only one who experience that way. Most audio equipments will need to be warm up first before they're able to perform well.

if it is still in 1st or 2nd day maybe that still ok, but if after several days blasting and the same problem still exist maybe there are something wrong.

hey guys,

something's wrong with my Edifier C3's volume control. sometimes it won't produce any sound when turned on(this happens when the two dots below the volume indicator start to blink for a short while). Out of 10 restarts, about 5 times the problem occurs.

Any idea what's wrong?

E.I.D.C light flashing?
probably got a little short out due to dust.
try cleaning up the inside and see if it still occurs
ohya,warranty smile.gif
maybe soundcard giving low quality signals? causing the eidc to function according to it's task?

its the cheap power filter caps....it cannot charge and discharge properly. people who don't know electronics will tell you need to warm up, blast first etc. if you crack up the volume louder and teh sound will break
modern day ic amp doesn't need warm ups unlike tube amps. its start and go.

the higher the value, the longer it needs to charge up. but its not the value need upgrade its the speed. you change it to a more reputable brand with low esr.

agreed. actually with most caps will be the same except high end like BG. they might take even longer or shorter depends. last time modded soundcard to panaFM caps it took about 2 weeks to settle down (computer on average 8hrs a day)

and my M3400 when i just bought it the sound is quite inconsistent for the 1st few weeks. had a friend over to practice some dance... the 1st time he came the bass was very heavy... the 2nd day it was almost non existent, didnt touch any settings or anything. probably the caps... but after 1mth or 2 the sound is good after 1-3min start up...

now after 2yrs the it needs about 5-10 mins to settle down on the tone... caps again i think... hav to change soon...
