Friends , i just got S550 .. and i have a very important question
i have a very annoying problem and i guess you had a an answer

how to set the default volume / settings for my system ??
every time i open it i need to change the " volume / bass / treb , etc "

how to make it as i want then ?
for example , i want each time i open it i find it's volume @ 10 and bass & treb @ 6 .. and so on

how to do that please ??
*
I guess things will auto reset when you switch off the main power.

unless you just let it go standby and it'll keep the memory wink.gif

So... It's time for me to get another speaker, just a budget one! I've owned a M1335 for myself and getting a speaker to hook it up to my TV. Now my choices are E3100 and M3100SF. I actually wanted to consider the Logitech Z313 but i think i shouldn't ask that in this edifier sub-forum~ Anyway, anyone with any comments are appreciated! E3100 is an old but well known model as I know, through reviews while M3100 has stylish look which i think is quite important when they're placed in living room! Give me comments! I know the Z313 is not comparable to the other two but can someone help me to do a comparison with lower end models like M1335 coz i own the M1335!
*
add Edifier M3400 into your list.

in my opinion... I'd recommend if you save up till RM300-400 for either Edifier HCS5640 or C3
the bundled remote will surely ease up changing volume for television instead of getting off yo butt to change it's volume

Edifier partnered with DTS???? and in Las Vegas too?? Seriously Edifier name might be as big as Altec or Logitech in the near future.

well they got potential... why not smile.gif

just hope that the speaker price won't shoot up high suddenly whistling.gif

Currently deciding either E3100/M3400 for M3400, i know that the wires are hardwired into satellites. Is there a way for me to extend the cable? I would like to place the sub on floor and the sats placed on a shelf which is roughly 1.3~1.4meter for its height and 60-70cm depth. Is the cable long enough for that length? ~2m... Any M3400 and E3100 user can clarify for me? The cable is to go underneath the shelf, satellites placed or mount to wall on both side of TV.

Hope to hear to u guys! Thx! Can't wait to audit these speakers when i'm back to KL!

By the way... I need to drop this into AirAsia cargo! They're too big as a hand luggage(56cm X 36cm X 23cm, in which 23cm is too short either for its height or depth)!
*
though E3100 had long wires, I wouldn't recommend it just to pair with TV.
I've tried pairing it and all I get is muddy tubular bass messing around with vocals, destroying the sound
I couldn't even hear what the actor speak at all due to the muddy bass.
reducing the bass will be a waste cuz you hear no bass at all unless you turn it up again.

so I've tried ignoring the sub and just listen to the sats, well, it sounded teeny when you listen to them from far.
add a slight tint of treble(not even 10% treble volume), the treble is more than enough to pierce your ears full with critical finishes

I don't know how long M3400 wires are but that's a better solution than the E3100

or stick with Edifier HCS2330 or C3 cuz I've seen people use them for tv wink.gif
just sharing my opinions here icon_rolleyes.gif

1st at all thanks to everybody over here.

I need help regarding C3.

it had been 3 year old model, it's time to have another new serious or improve generation to come out?

interested about C3 but seem like long time ago product already. but the price not even come down very much.

Any comment ?
*
no problem buying old products cuz we all know damn well how it performs... we can give convincing reviews about it's characteristics.
we can't tell you the characteristics with new products cuz we don't know how it'll perform smile.gif
sometimes old is gold.

do note C3 have mild bass so you gotta need a suitable soundcard to pair with it

ps:I don't think Edifier is planning on anything new to replace the C3.

*
of course you can... Edifier is able to withstand abuse even if you max all volume XD

just make sure you're not forcing the speaker till it distorts or pecah... cuz it's painful wink.gif

I had mine M3300 tested max woofer volume, max volume on control, and max windows volume then it can withstand numbers of songs without problem without any mod yet but my ear bleed already.
A lil fun thing to share, stick a coin with blue tack on speaker helps do a little tweak which part you want the sound brighten up, for my M3300 satellites i on can stick it behind because it is a flat panel speaker.

but srsly? ppl actually tweak their hi fi with this method? kewl! laugh.gif

must give it a try whistling.gif probably wouldn't get any improvements out from my speaker system tho

Those audiophile like singapore coin to put on top of speaker.

Now like limit, so didn't done much mod, replaced again my interconnect with my newer build then this tweak. So far i can just think the coin absorb the vibration thats why feel like sounds goes higher, maybe you can try stick dynamat see how good will it goes.
*
I add 2 bottles filled with water on each of my sats (e3100)
it kinda removed the muddy vocals biggrin.gif
nothing happened to the high part though... maybe it's just me whistling.gif

got no dynamat for now.... laugh.gif

got a question here, i connect my ipod shuffle to my HCS2330 via AUX, the sound quality coming from the speaker is muddy, volume too soft, when i use my PS3 to play the same songs with the same format and settings, it plays better than the ipod shuffle

is it the AUX cable no good or ipod problem?
*
try plugging your ipod through the pc line in?
if it's still muddy then it's your ipod problem
(aux cable is just a small matter but things do improve if you get good cables)

Hi sifus, just bought a set of used S530D. Very excited when bring it home. But after plug in to my PC. Its disappointing me. The bass was very weak. Even my old ATP3 and CS21 can cover it. # of the speaker was tested side by side with same songs, same placement. Had adjust the S530D Bass n Sub level to max. But the Sub is even worst than my ori Dell 2.1 speaker. Im using WM8501 USB DAC anyway. Im wondering is it the sub got any problem or not. Coz its impossible the bass is weak. It should can shake my room.  sad.gif  My room is around 500sqft.

Anyone got experience please give some comment.  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

probably you've expect too much out from some huge subwoofer.
Edifier S530D was not meant for crazy boom booms... they're tuned to be just enough(or more depends on taste)

Edifier S530D isn't logitech Z-2300 icon_rolleyes.gif
