Glad that you hear some difference.

The sound card op-amp, cheap and sound good is LME49720. You may try get metal can model one to sqeeze out the performance of that its IC. But depends on your choice, there are many op amps to try out.

From my experience, it lose to LME49720.
LME49720 harsh on beginning, but lots of details.

IMO better stick with C3, S330 although better but not worth it for your upgrade.

Got my parts today, so had a little mod to test out UTC2030 vs TDA2030A



TDA2030A does a little more detail and dynamic, sound a little harsh now, need to let it run-in.
UTC2030 not too bad, both chip does not have too much difference. If that for cut cost reason, that should be ok.

Well we cannot expect a wira runs like ferrari at wira price.


2 more mods to complete all what i need for my M3300.

Signal caps was changed before i change that chip.
The speakers i just remain original although limited performance, i just wanted to know how far can it goes.
If change speakers i will change the whole set to another model and mod it.


I had lubricated my mute switch, it works wonderful by reduce lots of grainy noise when i press on and sometime both channel are not balanced.

Depends, if the converter for digital input is good, SQ will good, if not it might be worst.

I don't really hope that one day Edifier's name will be like Bose and price went up because of name.

M3400? It is bang for your buck for budget under RM200.

Buying sound card of coz will make difference, the difference is not real big as you expected and depends how you find the difference.

Should be around RM160 if not wrong, do check the trade zone section for the latest price.
For good sound and cost a lot, Asus Xonar Essence STX.
Cheap and good, ooAoo SQ210.


But i use....onboard sound card.
Stay with onboard if you have tight budget, it is not that bad as you think.

Er...Xonar DS, one of a good sound card too.

M3400 should be good for your choice, or you wish to top up for some other models?

E3100 sounds good on the satellite and overall, but the bass maybe not that powerful for you.

Finally, i changed the op-amp to LME49860.
Seriously it has different compare to LME49720.
Less harsh treble, richer mid.

I need to do something on my tweeter, with guard off it is keep shooting my ear, after long listening will fatigue.

The amp does bright and crisp, its Edifier sound signature i think.

The power not clean resulting much fatiguing sound too. Because i need to protect my mid range, the grill is on, blocks a little sound so the volume is not same as the tweeter already. I think i'll try to make a dust cover to get it balance.

Thats what i thought.

M3300 satellites design are bright type one too, very little depth feel even though i mod a lot.

Did some more components replacements and add ons. This should be my final now

Nope, it still bright, but detailed one. Thats why i think that is the Edifier sound signature....
Theres a way to get off the bright, which is change the op-amp to OPA2604 to get rid of bright sound, but the detail is not good as LME49860.

I'm still finding ways to build a dust cover.

S550 amplifier is inside the woofer, not easy to make it to external amp and power your pioneer sub. That S550 120W woofer power are not joking one, can be sound better that your current pioneer sub.
