Guys, need some help:
I got an Edifier C3 today but am not at all satisfied with the bass -- way too low. I like the boom boom gut wrenching stomach churning face melting bass.
Ive been told I can exchange it for s530, which is around 30% more expensive, if i want.
Does the s530 have more punch, more bass? Is it worth the extra price?
Unfortunately, audition is out of the question. PLease help
Thanks
the s530d is WAYYYY much powerful compared to the c3 so the kickin punching kung fu bass will surely causes heart attack not to mention it's quite gentle to the ears too
The C3 can produce serious bass too all you need is a good soundcard (one of them is Asus Xonar U1)

here's a video to give you an idea of how much bass these 3 inch drivers can produce from the Edifier if360 review unit it's obviously sounded much better in real life

Hmm....could it be your mp3 player has bassy output?
meh... it's not mp3 player eq output (it's all neutral and songs are pure wav files) it's the position of the speaker I'll play some CD's tomorrow to prove that it's powerful

But overall much will more balanced sounding? compare to mp3 player...because i found most mp3 player i listened to had bassy sound signature one
I wanna review but not enough equipment to do it
P/S: macam i talk so much one but didn't do anything ho...
aha... the gumstick features Class A amp. it sounded warm and full bodied but not bassy enough for bassheads. even if gumstick was to use equalizer it'll sound dry and the bass will be bangin only
conclusion,to achieve serious bass the unit must be positioned on the floor near walls just like a subwoofer
and... what equipment not enough that stops you from reviewing?

C3 to me is a good speaker, using NE5532 which sounded not bad and it even use on some audiophiles equipment. The bass is quite powerful to me but i wonder why a lot ppl said it too weak
What about the S330? seems can be around your budget.
most people don't appreciate true bass people just wants Ah Beng bass only

Now i had a little funny problem, my speaker seems need some time to warm up to have good sound, when just turn on it sound so sad, like very stressed.
you have officially transformed your speaker into tube amped speaker LOL
some ic needs to be in a certain temperature to sound good just like my NAD amp you can tune the heat by placing some blu-tack on it like what Jimmy do

Previously i never know such thing will happen, as i heard the cambridge audio amplifier i found it has such problem but then once i back and mod my m3300 then i was stunned. But i always leave the speaker main power on, only mute it so it is always ready
nice nice... not good doing that lol (u shud know) but at least it sound great

My S730 just arrived . Didn't expect it to be HUGE and HEAVY . Anyway, add my name up to the list.
great. now play some music at normal listening volume for 6 hours per day. by doing this you help exercise the speakers as they are quite stiff when they're fresh
