QUOTE Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro is considering reporting Chelsea to Fifa regarding the Premier League club's pursuit of Neymar. Chelsea are keen to bring the highly-rated striker to Stamford Bridge, but their approach has incurred the wrath of Ribeiro. Reports have claimed that representatives of Chelsea met with Neymar's agent and family in New York earlier this week ahead of Brazil's friendly against the USA. Neymar opened the scoring in Brazil's 2-0 win to further enhance his reputation and there have subsequently been claims he has agreed personal terms with Chelsea. However, Ribeiro insists Santos have not accepted any offer from the Blues and he is now weighing up whether to pursue the matter with Fifa. Harassment "The club have made a formal offer that was rejected outright," Ribeiro told a news conference. "But the harassment has continued. "In light of the ethical positions that should govern the relationship between clubs, that is totally intolerable and Santos will defend its interests before Fifa." Neymar does have a buy-out clause in his current contract which stands at €35million (£28.8m), while Chelsea have reportedly only offered €20million (£16.5m) to date. Ribeiro is aware Santos can do nothing to stop Neymar leaving if the clause is activated, but is adamant no meaningful talks have taken place with Chelsea. He added: "Yesterday, there was a telephone call. They got in touch with my secretary and asked for our fax number. "That does not mean the opening for trading. Santos has no interest in negotiating over Neymar for any money. "The contract between the player and the club has a compensation clause. If the clause is satisfied, we can not do anything." Skysport the deal might gone nowhere. |

QUOTE Chelsea are closing on the capture of Ramires, with the midfielder all set to complete a protracted move. The Blues have spent the past week locked in negotiations as they attempt to bring the Brazilian to Stamford Bridge. They are now a step closer to achieving that target, with only a few minor formalities still to be put in place. Ramires is set to move to the reigning Premier League champions from Portuguese giants Benfica, in a deal thought to be worth around £17million. The Blues have been forced to be patient in their efforts to bring the 23-year-old on board, with numerous obstacles placed in their path. Reaching an agreement with Benfica was only the first step in a saga which has dragged on for well over a fortnight. Future Work permit issues proved to be a major sticking point, with Ramires having not played the required 75 per cent of international matches for his country. However, that matter has now been resolved and the Samba star, who passed a medical earlier in the week, has arrived back in England. It is expected that he will put the finishing touches to his switch by the close of play on Friday."Ramires is doing medical tests again and we hope that he will sign a contract," said Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti. "I hope he will sign soon. He is a fantastic player. He will be the future of the Brazil national team and I hope he will be the future of Chelsea." sky sport ramires likely to play this saturday. Yay |
