Anyone has info why Dell and Sony Ericsson is sticking with Android 1.6 and not 2.1? Is it cos their hardware is not up for it?

QUOTE(arbelnox @ Sep 16 2010, 10:04 AM) well, i'm not quiite sure for dell. but i think it is because dell has to do the optimization to the UI to be fit in the 5" screen. hey thanks for the info. Sony Ericsson seems really slow in reacting to the obvious unpopularity and dissatisfaction of it's customers with 1.6. It therefore came as an even greater surprise that such a new gadget as the Dell Streak would be using this antiquated OS.whereas for Sony X10, similar case applied but much tougher for Sony since they have applied their own UI skin (Timescape) over 1.6 hence that too gonna takes even longer time than Dell. i could be wrong. so any info wwill be much appreciated. anyway, it's definitely has nothing to do with the hardware. Cos even the G1 (HTC Dream) the very first Android phone can port to Froyo (2.2).... |
