guys, thinking of getting a 2nd hand 400D for the girlfriend.. anyone has any pointers on what to look out for on a 2nd hand body and lens? as well as symptoms to avoid? obvious physical defects non withstanding of course..

hahah.. it just happens i stumbled upon a really good deal for the 400D.. and she loves to mess around with mine anyways, so no worries about it being too heavy/messy etc.. any ideas on what boo boo-s to look out for in a 2nd hand cam?

just got quoted RM 140 for the repair of my autofocus for my kitlens.. now contemplating to get something new instead... opinions guys? looking at either Tammy 17-50 2.8 VC new, or a Canon 18-200 2nd hand or hole out for abit and get the 17-40 L all almost the same price right?
