you need to go much nearer than that....as mentioned by someone previously. anyway, dont expect to capture the images shown when using a macro lens...
*
u mean...
dun compare d outcome wif macro lens?
i guess i m at d nearest focusing range already...
but d spider is small...around 3mmx3mm size

find an L lens that can challenge EF-S 17-55 f2.8 IS USM. smile.gif

so are you still thinking that getting L lens is best? save a bit of money and lose out on what the non-L can provide?

L is not a NEED or MUST HAVE. there are plenty of EF lenses that are non L that can be used for practically and photography purpose under the sun.

to get sharp with 50mm f1.8 is not to shoot at f1.8 la. biggrin.gif stop it down to like f/4 or something.

FYI lenses are generally not the sharpest at their widest aperture.

even if they're already sharp at their widest, it is very likely that they will be even sharper when you stop down the aperture.
*
isit?my fren which is a photographer can shoot sharp model pictures at f1.4 o.O
but his gears are good la no doubt...
i owes try to shoot at f1.8,f2.0,f2.8 n f4
try this 4 aperture stop shots...
still on d way of improving...

you ask your fren how much he paid for that lens he use to snap at f1.4 and see. biggrin.gif

you use high grade lens go down to f1.4 also decently sharp laaaaa.

cannot compare with 50mm f1.8 II, which is the cheapest in Canon's lens range. that one you go f1.8 i WILL be soft.
*
yea...haha..his one is sigma 50mm f1.4 on d700...
no doubt la...haha...
ok...will try to listen to ur advice to shoot at f4 n try...
so it is not 500D body prob itself or it does play a role also in shooting sharp pictures?
