My colleague's friend wanted to buy a DSLR so he asked my colleague to go together with him to buy a unit last weekend. He brought my colleague to Sungei Wang and my colleague is a Nikon user so he is not really familiar with Canon system.

He got a little pissed off with Nikon lenses so he advised the friend not to get a Nikon body, he suggested Canon EOS 550D to his friend but the friend only has RM 2.4k budget.... He then suggested 500D...

This friend wanted a DSLR that has the ability to capture HD video, so 500D looks good isn't it? Who knows the shopkeeper told him 500D cannot capture HD video and Nikon D5000 can...

My colleague, as I mentioned earlier is not familiar with Canon system and had no access to the Internet that time to check if 500D has HD video capability...

So his friend bought the D5000, I'm really pissed off on how these shopkeepers are, so dishonest in doing business... Could be Nikon gives higher commission?

Actually by getting a DSLR doesn't mean the photos will turn out nice automatically... Sometimes even PnS overshadows DSLR's so-called superiority.
Many factors should be taken into consideration such as camera body, lenses, filters, skills and etc.
